But if he liked Wade so much, why would you need to keep Marty around? Why not just promote Wade to head coach. What can Schottenheimer offer to Wade's defense. Schottenheimer is just a motivational speaker like Dennis Green. He is not an X's and O's coach.

Cause like I said, *we* contacted Wade about the HC gig as soon as we needed one. Once Wade knew he was legitimately in the running for this, why would he have automatically taken the SD HC job when he'd rather coach us? Unless a person doesnt actually think coaching us was his dream job.. or if either way he still would've been more likely to stay there cause he knew what he had defensively.. not to mention Tomlinson and whatnot.

Still, had our gig fallen through then there still would've been the option for Wade to take the SD job.

Right now many Charger players are asking how a coach who went 14-2 got fired and these guys do not seem to be happy about it. LT said this was a big shock to him and that seems to be a shared attitude by many in SD by guys who liked and respected Marty as their HC
