Just saw where Turner has hired Bill Bradley as his second secondary coach. Does this mean he's fixing to free up Stewart? Story is main story on Chargers page @ nfl.com ....interesting anyway.

Let me get this straight:

They won't let Stewart or Pagano go, but they bring in two guys to coach the same positions?

Maybe those two should take their case to leave to the league? Doesn't seem right to make them stay and bring in two new guys to tell them what to do....

I think this means Norv is getting ready to lose Stewart to Phillips, it's been reported that Brian Stewart is going to ask the Chargers to let him out of his contract to be the Dcoordinator here

That's a great idea since "His poop is considered currency in Argentina."
Maybe he could perform the ultimate miracle...turn Jammer into an All-Pro.

You would think. They also hired Ron Rivera as LBs coach when everyone thought Pagano was gonna be the new LBs coach. And now the Chargers are saying they want two LBs coaches in Rivera and Pagano. So who knows?

Bolts hire second secondary coach

Wednesday, Feb 21, 2007

Chargers Head Coach Norv Turner has structured his staff to include two secondary coaches and has added former Bills and Jets secondary coach Bill Bradley to coach alongside fellow secondary coach Brian Stewart. Bradley signed a two-year contract with the Chargers.

Bradley’s background includes working with Bolts’ defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell as the defensive backs coach in Buffalo from 1998-2000 and with the New York Jets from 2001-03.

In Buffalo, Bradley’s secondary led the NFL in pass defense in 1999, while ranking 14th in 1998 and fourth in 2000. Buffalo made the playoffs following the 1998 and ’99 seasons. Two of Bradley’s three seasons in New York, the Jets ranked in the NFL’s top 10 in pass defense, recording a No. 7 ranking in 2001 and a No. 10 ranking in 2003. The Jets made the playoffs as a Wild Card in 2001 and won AFC East in 2002.

Bradley left the NFL after the 2003 season to return to his native Texas and serve as the defensive coordinator at Baylor University in Waco.

In 2005, Baylor ranked 13th in the nation in pass efficiency defense while going 5-7 on a slate that included tough overtime losses on the road at Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

That year, the Bears’ defense allowed its fewest total yards, rush yards and points per game since 1995.

A native of Palestine, Texas, Bradley was a high school All-America quarterback who led his team to the 1965 state title and went on to a standout collegiate career as a quarterback and defensive back at the University of Texas from 1966-68.

Bradley, who led the NFL in interceptions in both 1971 (11) and 1972 (nine), became the first player ever to lead the league in interceptions in consecutive seasons, a feat that has been matched just one time since.

Bradley still holds Eagle records for career interception return yardage (536) and the club single-season marks for interceptions and return yardage (11 for 249 in 1971), while sharing the team's all-time interception record with Eric Allen (34).

He played in 114 NFL games, spending the 1969-1976 seasons with the Eagles and the 1977 campaign with both the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals.

Bradley is a member of the Texas High School, the University of Texas and the Philadelphia Eagles Halls of Fame. Bill and his wife, Susan, have two children, Matthew and Carissa.

Bill Bradley’s Coaching Experience

2004-06 — Defensive Coordinator, Baylor University
2001-03 — Defensive Backs, New York Jets
1998-2000 — Defensive Backs, Buffalo Bills
1996-97 — Defensive Coordinator, Toronto Argonauts (CFL)
1995 — Defensive Coordinator and Secondary, San Antonio Texans (CFL)
1994 — Defensive Coordinator and Secondary, Sacramento Gold Miners (CFL)
1991-92 — Defensive Backs, San Antonio Riders (WLAF)
1988-1990 — Defensive Backs, Calgary Stampeders (CFL)
1987 — Assistant Coach, University of Texas
1985 — Secondary, Memphis Showboats (USFL)
1984 — Secondary Coach, San Antonio Gunslingers (USFL)
1983 — Defensive Backs, San Antonio Gunslingers (USFL)

I would have to think this means Stewart is being allowed to become the Cowboys DC. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

IF: the biggest little word in the English language.

Actually, zeromaster, the biggest little word is "I"...

There are too many people that say...

I want this

I want that

I like this

I like that

I don't agree

I think you are wrong

I don't care...I want...

I, I, I, I, .... people that use that word, it's all about them, and noone else!

"If" and "I" are words that people should try their best to not use...

I'm sure that I have used those words, however, it was explained to me, that if people could eliminate those words from their vocabulary, they would be able to communicate better with others...

Yeah, I said it, so what!

:D

Carry on....

By the way, that was taught to me in basic training by my Drill Sergent...
He asked us questions about why we did not do what he told us to do and, one time I told him..."I" don't know what you are talking about?" He walked up to me and told me, "I...I...I...what do you mean I...? Then he poked me in my eyes with his fingers....then said, "there is your "I"...
True story....

See what I mean?

It does seem very irregular for a team to have two secondary coaches. It seems likely that Stewart will be let out of his contract to become DC for the Boys.

I thought we might have gone after Bradley since he was Wade's secondary coach in Buffalo.

I hope so. I'd be really happy with our defensive staff if that happened.

should have hired Bill Braskey......

I don't know where you would find an official stat on this, but Baylor led the NCAA in takeaways in the 2005 season... (if I'm remembering correctly)... I know it's hard to believe because it seems it would be the other way around... Bradley isn't that bad of a coach...
