If, and that's a big if, Dallas does meet SD in the SB, I think I would bet on Parcells before I'd bet on Martyball.
Me too, the 1996 Patriots were no where near the Packers talent level and a part from a special teams meltdown attributed to two key coverage guys being injured for the Super Bowl, they outplayed the Packers and were surging late in that game before Howard dashed through their holes.

In 1990 the Bills were a superior team to the Giants talent wise and the 49ers were destined to three-peat on paper but Parcells' clock control run game did in both of the high powered offenses.

1986 they played alot of close games and although they had a 14-2 record they seldom dominated, they just won. Parcells' trademark winning inspite of it all.

Best team in Football.
Offensive talent wise they might just well be. They can be out played and coached however.

I think they a 10-2 team, the best complete team in the AFC and our challenge in the Superbown in FEB.

While I agree with you... it can be said that they have had easy games... lets see

I would absolutely rather have Bill than Marty, but I took this thread as saying the Chargers aren't as good as their record, and that is not correct. They are really good. If we are including coaches in the conversation we have an advantage for sure. Bottom line is that isn't it fun to be able to talk about us having a REAL opportunity to make it to the Super Bowl. Man, it has been too long!

I think they're probably the 4th best team in the NFL, behind Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore. So the hype is pretty well deserved, I guess. They're not the best, but only them and Baltimore really approach Dallas' offensive and defensive balance.

Wow, what a homer.

I'm sorry, but at Cinci, and at Denver are tough games. They probably are looking at our schedule and saying the same thing about us beating the Skins, Texans, Titans, PANTHERS, Giants..... What are these guys combined records, and hell the Skins beat us.
If anyone thinks it is easy going to KC and winning a game they are crazy.

Are the guys at Football Outsiders.com homers, too? I doubt it. At least not for the Cowboys. Statistically, the Dallas Cowboys are the best, most balanced team by far on offense and defense.

Don't let it burn your bum, though.

Someone could say the same thing about the Cowboys schedule as well.

San Diego is an impressive all around team. They have some solid strengths and their weaknesses really are not that bad. I would say their weakness is the wide receiver position and the secondary. The presence of LT and Gates makes up for what they lack on the outside. Their front 7 makes up for their secondary.

They can only play the teams on their schedule. They don't have to beat every team by 10 or more points for the wins to be impressive. As bad as Oakland is, they still are a division rival for the Chargers and the Raiders actually have a stout defense. Dallas knows all about rivalries. They lost to Washington who is not very good this season.

It is all about getting on a roll during the post season and also being lucky in the season not to lose too many key parts to injury. Both Dallas and San Diego are in good shape at this point.
