yeah good football team, haley agrees with brady
haley says i see a guy in ware, bigger than me, etc.. i told him the world is at his fingertips, and he is bright, once he knows the film study real well, etc, he will do well, i wont give him all the stuff better then me, but his future is bright

on spencer; i just know hard work and dedication will bring success everytime, some guys dont want to do the work but want success without the hard work, comes to a point that players have to say to themselves, i have ato dedicate myself to the game, then you will have success but spencer last year, did the hard work finally and you saw the success, players have to realize that

on brooking; i think you have to have leaders that are verbal and they have to go out and get it done on field, like now dallas has the leaders like brady tinker on the show eluded to, and they are showing the other players, this is how you do it, and we wont accept anything less, while brooking brought that to the team and if rubbed off on players Back to haley he said i used to tell the players on our team follow me, and get it done, i played with guys that gave their soul, we did four things,
1. verbalizes, visualized, smart players and we got it done, and believed in one another,
if your not going to get it done, get on my back and i will carry u

we believed in one another and when u do that, you will be successful

on wade; about not being fiery guy; you know wade is kinda like a bill walsh, but more like a switzer, but with jimmy johnson, he lit guys up and had fire buring under our butts even with average guys and if they didnt do it, he shipped them and that let us know no one is safe;

on wade, when guys realize that you should respect the coach, and he cares for you, that you should play with respect, when wade allows you to do things other coaches wouldnt, then they will play for you, thats why i came back and played that last super bowl even though i shouldnt have, but i wanted to for switzer

on roy williams, ive talked to roy, roy is a champ i think he said, but romo and roy have to dedicate themselves to give 100 percent, they have to come together as roy and romo, i played with great wrs and michael irvin and jerry rice, so qb knew who to throw to and where the wr was going to be, whhen you have that, u will have success

hopefully dc or theebs can put up the podcast, i missed alittle

talked about his walk for literacy and education fair march 20th at fair park

Him saying that about Switzer.. I respect that. And it's also nice to hear some credit going his way. The guy was turned into a scapegoat. Barry though, was one good coach and a likable guy. Only Jimmy and Tom are above him in my list of Cowboy coaches. Though you win a super bowl for me, baby, you'd better believe you get on that list! Sorry Bill.. Now let's see Wade jump onto that list real soon here too.........

Interesting. I thought fire and brimstone was the only way to get players' respect.

And Jimmy could talk big with 100 draft picks to play with and no salary cap, but these days it's not as simple as shipping guys off the first instant they step out of line.

Future Hall of Fame guys know nothing. It's the guys on message boards that never played football beyond high school that know everything.

Jimmy'd never cut a Bennet, anyway. He'd cut a scrub to send a message to Bennet, but if you could play for Jimmy, then you'd play for Jimmy. Just look at Michael Irvin.

Right....I'm thinking more of a Leon Lett.
Curvin Richards fumbles in a menaingless last game of the year against the Bears...but he is cut....to prove, yoyu need to concentrate and hold on to the ball.

Emmitt Smith fumbled in an OT game against houston, that did mean something [if I remember right] and he was in FG range, could have won. Instead, Houston wins.....he didn't get cut [I know, big difference there in talent]

John Roper, a marginal player, falls asleep in a team metting...cut....
Back to Leon...gaffe in the SB which was more embarrasing than costing a game, but still....where's the concentration. Cost us the dolphins game on T-day. Put team in a situation to win out to win home field. He didn't get cut.

Somehow it worked with Jimmy, but I think more for the marginal players / backups, nott he starters, or key backups...it's how it was portrayed to the fans.

In The Art of War, it's called Killing the Chicken to Frighten the Monkey. And it's a very effective motivational tactic. I do it myself now and then to keep employees in order. Fire a contractor or under-performing temp to make the point that justice is swift and final and not necessarily fair, so work your butt off to keep me happy. :) Jimmy was a master at it.

True. I had t fire 2 employess over the last year or so. It was more because I had too, not so much to send a message. But it did send a message regardless. Things went well. Now that I think of it, it may be time again.
As a few are getting back to therir old habits.
But nice analogy, I need to remember that one.
