I don't know, but it sure sounds like corner money, not FS money.

Looks like the Pack is trying to make Brett happy now that he has committed to them.

i dont see why the majority of fans freak when the see "45million".... a deal like that, is really a 2-3 year deal, with maybe 15-20mill guaranteed. Theres absolutely no way in heck the player ever sees the end of deals like the ones that are being done today!

Woodson has been finished for awhile now. The Packers are incredibly stupid.

How does a player like Woodson get that kind of money? He is seriously living off the past, because he is a shadow of his former self. He is now just an injury proned corner that is proned to getting roasted regularly.

Again, before the details are known, it could be a case of the Postons overinflating the actual value to look good in the papers.

that is unbelievable how much moulah he got.....

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers made their first major splash in the free-agent market this offseason, agreeing to terms with defensive back Charles Woodson on Wednesday.

Woodson's agent, Kevin Poston, said the Packers agreed to a seven-year deal for $52.7 million, including $10.5 million in the first year of the contract.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson declined comment.

Woodson's signing comes a day after Brett Favre told the team he would return to play the 2006 season. Favre previously urged the team to make a "statement" in free agency, similar to the signing of Reggie White in 1993.

The team lost out on its pursuit of kicker Adam Vinatieri and linebacker LaVar Arrington before finally landing Woodson.

Woodson, a four-time Pro Bowler, has played eight seasons for the Oakland Raiders, intercepting 17 passes in 106 games.

Woodson hasn't played a full season since 2001, and broke his right leg Oct. 23 against Buffalo. The Raiders declined to use their franchise tag on Woodson in February, making him an unrestricted free agent.

He won the Heisman Trophy at Michigan and was the fourth overall pick in the 1998 draft.

AP Sports Writer Larry Lage in Detroit contributed to this report.

IE - an 8 million dollar signing bonus.

That comment was for his next client.

the Packers are quickly becoming a laughingstock organization ....they pay Charles Woodson this kind of money, but they didnt want to pay Jevon Walker (younger, he had huge upside and was coming off a huge yr before the ACL)...then there is the Favre garbage and hiring a headcoach who was the coordinator of the worst offense in football the last two yrs

they are really a joke of a team now...they are looking at 3-13 and Favre seriously making a run at the alltime single season interception record

Wow, is that what breaking a leg gets you these days? I see why people are always saying, "break a leg" now.

The Packers really pulled a Snyder with that deal.

that's funny, because Favre explicitly stated that he was waiting to see what the Pack were going to do

Favre is fickle
