ORLANDO, Fla. - Michigan State tight ends coach Mark Staten remembers the relatively minimal fanfare that accompanied Brent Celek to the fifth round of the NFL draft in 2007, and Charlie Gantt comes to mind.

"Now he's one of the top ones (in the NFL)," Staten said Tuesday of Celek, who played for him at Cincinnati and is now a standout for the Philadelphia Eagles. "And Charlie has some of the same abilities. Charlie will test through the roof. He'll bench 225 (pounds) 30-some times, and his big thing is if he can run a low 4.7 (in the 40-yard dash), which he's capable of, then that'll increase it.
"He's on a lot of special teams, which as a young tight end you want those guys involved in that aspect. So he'll have his chance, and that's all he ever wanted, that's all he's ever asked for."
