Video: Charvarius Ward: Dallas don't make a lot of good decisions

I still don't understand how people don't get it but 7 rounds and 32 teams passed on this guy and not only that he's on his fourth team
Sure everyone passed on him in the draft. Everyone was wrong. Once in the league he has been not only a starter but a high level starter. He hasn't changed teams due to lack of talent, he's changed teams due to free agency and Cowboy stupidity.

But that only applies at time of draft. In Ward's case, they had him in the program til right before the season began. They had seen him against NFL talent. As another poster said, Dallas did what Dallas does. Panicked. Gave away a promising young player because they had whiffed at another position. I think that's a simple but accurate summation.
exactly...the issue here isnt his draft status. The issue here is the Cowboys had an entire offseason and camp to evaluate the player and failed hard.

The Cowboys' stupidity?? They traded Ward away after some training camp practices. Nobody knew he was going to be a high level starter before he even played a single NFL game.

Listen, Dallas made a lot of bad moves, like Ward said. But nobody in the NFL knew who the heck Ward even was when Dallas traded him. To criticize them after the fact is just petty and baseless.

KC did. So your point is irrelevant. That is why they TRADED for him and did not wait for him to be cut like Jerry Dumbo GM Jones does.

If they didn't have a long track record, maybe I wouldn't go so far as to call it stupidity.

Counter points: The Cowboys had studied him in the draft process & thought enough to bring him in. What are OTA's & camp for if not to evaluate players? There were clearly good reports on him all thru camp & was expected to make the team. Part of what made it stupid isn't about him individually it's that they traded a promising player at a skill position for a lineman that had already been in the league for 2 years. A player who ended up appearing in 10 games & starting 6 in his career. The Chiefs were going to cut him most likely but found a sucker to give them a pro bowl player for him. Sure they didn't now how good he would be but they had been interested in him all along & the fact that he had 3 relatives playing in the NFL gave them a glimpse that he might not be your average undrafted player.

Nothing about my position is baseless or petty.
