Zeke's runs against the Bears

Direction NUM YDS AV
Left end 1 1 1.0
Left guard 2 3 1.5
Left tackle 5 13 2.6
Middle 6 53 8.8
Right end 7 31 4.4
Right guard 4 27 6.8
Right tackle 4 14 3.5

Obviously, this is not an all encompassing look at the linemen's productivity but it does show the team's preferences for where the runs should be directed. Their confidence is in Frederick and Martin.

The Cowboys did not run over left guard until halfway through the 3rd quarter. Elliot's best runs over left tackle were in the 4th quarter, the last two going for 4 and 5 yards respectively.

However, you can see they made the decision to run right rather than left. this is a deviation from past games, where they ran through left tackle very often over the past two seasons.

I would say they did the same for Chaz as they did for Dak in the first two games, scale down the responsibilities and allow him to be acclimated.

Did anyone he blocked have the ability to start for anyone else in the league? Wait till he faces a decent edge rusher before we start making these proclamations
Have you watched the offensive line play around the league? If you have then you know he can play somewhere because there are plenty of guys starting around the league that are no better. Nobody is comparing him to Tyron Smith so relax.

Was it Leonard Floyd the #9 pick in the draft? A guy the Cowboys would have taken if they traded down. Or was it Willie Young?

Leary was out of sync with Green on that clipping penalty. They've been doing that cut block but when Leary blocked that player high, it became a penalty.

I thought I heard the NFL was changing the rule so that all cut blocks were being outlawed, whether the guy is already engaged or not.

That's what I thought originally, but appearently the change was related to cut blocks that the defender can't see coming.

Nothing he did bothered me at all. I expected some mistakes and a few penalties for his first start. All I really wanted from him was not to get Dak killed and he did that, although Dak did help him out a few times by running or getting rid of the ball at the last second.

Kept an eye closely on Green last night and thought he actually played quite well considering it was his first extended experience in regular season game action; he didn't look at all like the overwhelmed player we saw in the preseason,

Thought his penalty late was so-so, but he did a good job the majority of time keeping Prescott clean. This is effectively his rookie season and you're looking for traits to develop. If he can develop into a Jeremy Parnell type, you've done well with this former 3rd rounder.

His performance certainly made me feel better about him possibly being the future at right tackle. He has some things to clean up, but so far when he's played (other than when he was obviously fatigued in the preseason), he has held up well.

Green 1st start I felt he did a good job out there as the OL prevented any sacks on the night.

Those types of stats are a little misleading for zone type runs.

A couple pressures given up. All in all not bad for a spot start.
Get healthy Tyron!!!

I believe Green takes the RT spot next year.

In the 1st quarter of the pre-season game against Seattle he did well against their starters, who are no slouches.

The 90's offensive line was so dominating that the backup players they didnt resign went on to Pro Bowl careers with other teams.

Kevin Gogan and Ron Stone were both three time Pro Bowlers for other teams.

Other guys like James Brown had very productive caeers.

I see our offensive line today as very deep with the kind of guys we have. A guy like Chaz Green would probably start on half the teams in the league.
