I have to case studies.

NFL

Pats really don't win super bowls unless they cheat.
They may very well be the longest running successful seasons team but they had help. That help,is the X factor in how they should be ranked. Maybe they don't make 6 SB appearances, maybe they make on 3 and lose all 3.

The moral of this case study is THEY, ALL BY THEMSELVES....put this out there.

MLB

AROD. I don't like him but he is a fool. He would have blasted tons of home runs because he is a natural, freakish talent anyway..... Sucks in the clutch but that's another thread.

AROD and his accomplishments are more real, less tainted than the Pats Super Bowl wins.

It's that simple.

What is the moral of the study here? Those who cheated and gained really didn't need to do it in the first place?

I do think that NE would have won anyways but now it is tainted. The same applies to Aroid, McGwire, Bonds, etc.......they would have put up insane numbers regardless with only Bonds as the exception. He was a skinny fellow in Pittsburgh but he would still have hit quite a few homers on athleticism alone.

I do believe that this is all blown out of proportion but that is why there are rules, to keep everyone on the same playing field.

If you want to inject steroids in your body or go spy on other teams or deflate some footballs, so what.......just be prepared for the consequences no matter how little of an advantage was gained.

In short, the Patriots got caught and probably have cheated often before, so now it is time to pay the piper!

Want to add that Bonds, Mark and Alex have paid their prices. One was suspended and the other two are probably never going into the HOF. We can even throw Sosa in there along with Bagwell and Clemens.

I just believe one was more affected than the other in my two scenarios.

I will disagree on bonds, Macquarie and Sosa jacking that many homeruns.

If you apply the simplest math. It's simple.
Any homerun that these guys hit that was going to come up 20-30 feet short. On average 10% of field length or close to it. That 10-15 gained in power puts the ball over the fence INSTEAD of being caught for an out. Macquire seemed like he tapped the ball and it would just clear the fence.

I disagree that the pats win all those SBs. The edge was most likely gained by killing a drive of there opponent that could have scored if pats didn't know the play ahead of time. "It's like they knew the play before we ran it"? Lol

I'll give ya that on the MLB players, there would definitely been fewer HR's, but they still would have hit plenty and would have had a legitimate shot of breaking Maris's record.....legally.

Those guys still had natural talent to succeed without cheating, especially Bonds. Not with home-runs, but with hits, RBI's and BA. Mark was just a meathead but could hit them far back in Oakland. Sosa? Not sure where he would have ended up.

As for the Patriots, they still would have won a couple of SB's IMO, they are/were that good.

Yes. Bonds was a hitter. Home runs not like that. Head growing, feet growing at age 38 lol come on man
Barry hit 20-39 homeruns... The the 1990s rolled in and he was I the 40s... Closing on 50 then 73 as he got older.

His post season number were pedestrian. Then he had a good postseason well into steroids.

one of the coolest things I ever saw was McGuire take batting practice in the Astrodome, don't care that he took steroids, it was still amazing to see.
