in between the you knows he said a lot that I was pleased to hear. He's like 24, from a different part of town than most and on the verge of stardom on one of the world's biggest stages! I am pleasantly optimistic he's on the right path and glad to witness & follow his progression! Go Dez!!

I thought the you knows was just a funny quirk, but it's really silly to use that to call someone dumber than a box of rocks. Most people are very poor about using verbal crutches like that, especially in interviews or public speaking. It takes communicative confidence, practice and experience to overcome this sort of thing.

I have to say I kind of regret posting that because I thought it was noticeable, but I'm actually very excited for him this year. I never cared for the pick but I love being proved wrong.

I agree. He's not articulate yet, maybe never will be. But I disagree with those who equate articulation with intelligence. Two different things.
