What a second half! I did not even realize that Chelsea was playing a man down until just a few minutes left in the game when a fellow bar patron clued me in after I commented that it seemed like a hockey powerplay going on virtually the entire second half! Wow, that Messi smash off the crossbar...just wow.
Congrats to Chelsea! No way I get to see any of the Real / Bayern match today though. That one starts just TOO early, even for sneaking out.
MC KAos;4522977 said:nope, they have to qualify, they arent out of it yet, though. Last time i checked, they were 4 points behind newcastle for the final spot, they have 3 games to go, so its still possible. i think newcastle still has to play city, but im not 100% sure on that one.
MC KAos;4523003 said:ya, the spurs are probably more of a threat to take the fourth spot than newcastle, i hope its chelsea though, i like drogba

daschoo;4524557 said:haha sorry bud, didn't mean to come across as arsey. The "the spurs" thing just annoys me because I'm used to Americans referring to my team as the celtics rather than Celtic. Drogba will by all accounts end up in either the Middle East or China, basically wherever he gets the most money. I used to like Drogba when he was at Marseille but the combination of his diving antics and him playing for Chelsea have definitely put me off him.

And now Munich get a home game in the Final against Chelsea.
Will be interesting to see what happens with tickets for that game, as both clubs (in theory) should be given the same number of tickets.
Although, as a rule a certain number go to the host country so you would assume that the German FA would do the decent thing & let Bayern have most of those.
Both teams will be missing several key players due to suspension, and the down side for Chelsea is that Luiz will have to play, so at some point he is likely to gift Bayern a goal. That means Chelsea will have to score 2, because no way does an English team beat a German team on Penalties

joseephuss;4531910 said:Just a few, but they all are important. Of course Terry will not be available for the final.
Cole
Terry
Cahill
Lampard
Sturridge

The comment just before the penalties by the commentators was
"Bayern have never lost a penalty shoot-out in the European Cup, and Chelsea have never won one".
I guess when your name is on the cup, nothing else matters.
