I feel that TO is still a great player with some good years in him but it is time to cut ties.
Make this Romo's team. As long as TO is on the team, he will want to be the focus and the media feeds off this elevating anything that TO says or does to ridiculous status.
Werder is making a living off TO--the guy has never had so much face time on ESPN
What worries me most is that TO will rub off on Roy Williams. RW comes in as the new guy and if TO latches on to him like it seems he has done with the Wide receivers meeting with JG then I believe RW, who shows some of the same traits as TO will become TO the 2nd.
Other players that could be poison to chemistry are of course Pacman and Tank--Tank has been low keyed all year but the media will always drudge up his past and Pacman needs no comment-just cut them loose as they are not worth it
Let Witten and Romo and perhaps Colombo grow as leaders without TO always being a lightning rod
Gurode must take charge of the offensive line. We have 3 right tackles playing various positions. Colombo, Davis and Flo are basically best suited for RT although you may argue that Davis has found his niche at RG.
Gurode must be the man in that group who will get in Flo's face after the second false start and demand accountability.
On defense, we have a hole in leadership because Roy Williams should be that guy. If Palomalau is laying it all on the line, dont you think the rest of the defense is bringing it hard too. Roy did not ever seem the type to be the Ray Lewis kind of guy and that is a shame. Demarcus leads by example; James could provide that leadership, but I cant think of anyone else on the defense who asks more of his fellow combatants. Defense is all about attitude and you dont think seeing Dawkins leaving it all on the field as a veteran makes his teammates feel accountable?!!
Not sure what the answer is but I know the drama surrounding this team all year has sucked the enjoyment right out of watching the cowboys this year and it all comes down to chemistry.
