I doubt it, but 14-2 is a possibility. Wouldnt that be the best record the Cowboys ever had?

Depends how you wanna look at it...by wins or losses?

It would beat the 92' team that won 13 games, but would match the losses of the 68' and 77' teams that finished 12-2.

I am thinking of the mass suicides of the cowboys haters if that were to happen and smiling.

It would be led by Nick Buoniconti and his 1972 teammates. That is all Nick has left is the perfect season and it would kill him to see another team do it. :laugh1:

I don't think we will go 16-0 but it would be great if we did as long as we won the SB. No one could top that feather in our cap EVER. Can you imagine what all of the haters would say.....

I don't know about 'all' the haters, but if it were to happen, Joe Gibbs would probably convert to Islam.

I try not to speak in absolutes, but no team will ever go undefeated during a 16-game regular season. The CBA/salary cap structure practically guarantees that it will never happen. There is just too much league-enforced parity for any team to overcome, no matter how strong or talent the team might be. The luck factor (and every team needs it from time to time) for creating wins during tight games has been minimized to the extreme.

If the '85 Bears couldn't do it before the cap, there's no chance of it happening during the 21st century. Good dream, though.

I disagree. Every year there are a handful of teams that have a chance. I realize it is quite a feat, but it is not nearly as insurmountable of a record as some might believe. Key injuries to an opponent, location of games, matchups, etc, have a bearing on the likelihood of it occurring.

Four teams have a theoretical chance of going undefeated. Right now, the Cowboys, Colts and Patriots are clearly the best teams in the NFL. The Packers are perfect so far, but unless they get a running game going, they are going to have a tougher path to it than the other teams.

I'm not saying any of these teams WILL be 16 and 0. But a team is likely to do it in the next 10 years. The Patriots are primed to get there if they beat the Cowboys in Dallas two weeks from now. It is clear that right now, that the Cowboys, Colts, and Patriots will be favored in every game they play, other than when they play each other. If the Cowboys beat the Patriots, who could you point to and say that they will beat the Cowboys if the Cowboys get to 6 and 0?

To be honest, I would not want them to go 16-0.

I think it would make the playoffs more nerve racking because you will definitely be expected to win. And if you don't, it will be a huge choke job.

I will be happy with 13-3.

oh good...i had not read anything about a trap game or taking it one game at a time in about 10 minutes....

when are you people going to get it...we are fans...we can think about 16-0 if we want...our thinking about 16-0 has no effect on the team...just like thinking about the Patriots game does not mean the team isnt getting ready for Buffalo.

:bang2::bang2::bang2:

I've been saying this very same thing. It boggles my mind that some people think us fans thinking ahead directly impacts how the team plays on gameday.
