One of the more encouraging developments of last nights game was the readiness of Awuzie. He started the game off cover the slot in dime packages, and finished playing as a boundary CB. I dont know if anyone made a bigger case for more playing time last night, and with Scandrick out at least a week, maybe 2, he will get it. Last nights game showed the diversity he has as a CB and he can be counted on as a workhorse in that secondary.

He is a potential "100 percenter" as I like to call them. A CB that will play 100% of your defensive snaps. You can be one of those guys as strickly a boundary CB, but you have a much better chance at not coming off the field if you can play the slot as well.

With Scandrick out, it will be interesting to see of Lewis gets the call to play in dime packages next week

I'll be honest, I didn't hear his name or see his number much. For a rookie CB, that's actually a good thing. Hopefully Lewis sees playing time real soon as well.

Awuzie read a screen pass perfectly last night that forced Eli Manning to throw the ball the other way. The running back was destroyed by Sean Lee and the Giants had to punt.

Collinsworth pointed that out, real time I thought it was actually designed to be a fake WR screen to set up the backside RB screen, but still good awareness by Chido nonetheless

That's how I remembered it, from Collinsworth. During the draft the scouting reports I read on Awuzie praised his pre-snap awareness and ability to diagnose plays. I think the Cowboys might have a real steal here.

Something tells me it won't be long before Chidobe Awuzie becomes a far more familiar name than he is at present. His coverage was generally considered excellent in college with Colorado. That special kind of talent is very likely to serve him well from now on with Dallas. Hopefully, our CB, Jourdan Lewis, will get back to health really soon to augment the rest of our rookie talent haul in the secondary. Our defense should do nothing but improve steadily as the 2017 season wears on.

I love Awuzie in the slot because he so devastating off the edge rushing the passer.
