People have covered Reid and Mahomes, but the underrated part for them is how Brett Veach has managed to keep the defense stocked behind them. That's the difference between the Chiefs and say the late 2000s Peyton Manning teams, or the late 2010s Packers squads. An MVP quarterback can win you 8-10 games almost single-handedly, but he won't beat contenders if you let his roster decay.

The Chiefs defense has been middle of the pack or better in Reid's time there, and when your offense is a pinball machine, that's good enough to beat a lot of teams.

Can you even imagine? I lived through the 90's, and I can still recall being a slightly entitled fan by 96. Then, the Cardinals smacked us off the mountain and I've been humbled ever since.

It's funny how people reference Reid as a "great" head coach. The dude was literally ran out of Philadelphia for his coaching style and conservative game calling. The difference is the player, not the system, not the owner, not the GM. Mahomes is all-world and would make the most inept HC look like a genius. Players like Mahomes do not come around often and Reid was in the right place at the right time.

He took them to the super bowl and barely lost against NE, what terrible coach does that?
Sure Mahomes greatly helps him, but as a dallas fan you gotta see how inept coaching can hurt a team

Rodgers has been to quite a number of NFCCG'S. Maybe not consecutive here lately or winning, but there are many here that claim Dak is just as good as Rodgers or that McCarthy's coaching is the reason for Rodgers not winning.

Neither of which are true.
But yeah, The Zone Dak and McCarthy clans stick to this perspective.

The Bengals have never won the Super Bowl and the Chiefs have won 2 in 56 years.
If we are being honest.....Jerry as the chief architect of a franchise has never won a Super Bowl. He has never even made it to the conference championship game. Those titles that we were gifted by Jimmy is the reason we are going on 28 years with the SAME person as the chief architect. Jimmy made it look so easy Jerry just knew he could do it. He craved the respect Jimmy got in football circles. Being a rich businessman was not good enough for Jerry. I hate that this is happening to my team....but I am loving watching Jerry fail on the field.

I'm loving him openly having Will McClay do the dirty work but hogging the GM title when he has ZERO business being a GM...and not being rewarded with a championship appearance.

I'm glad his disrespect for Jimmy by not putting him in the ring of honor is not being rewarded with a championship appearance. Jerry does not do the right thing...so I hope he enjoys his BILLIONS...because that elusive title he craves will continue to escape him until he does the right thing and hand the football operations over to football people.

You can point to whatever team you want and say what they have not won....but Jerry...in his current role has won NOTHING. The difference? Those other teams you mentioned try something else when something does not work. Dallas? 28 years and counting.
