Staff and players need to hide their wives from Don Juan Demarco.
My agenda is defending truth against historical revisionism.I know about randle and that story still the quote was about Murray as i said. And he was right with it. Stupid guy or not.
Murray had fundamental problems after he hit open field or got thru the first line of the defense. Even moderator were making fun of him. And he never was good in goal line situations. Also a reason why his TD production was low even when we were such a run based team during his lone great season with us (2014).
In his rookie season murray avg 5.5 yds thats true. But he only started 7 games, the rest was backup role. Dont try to sugarcoat stuff so it fits your agenda. Every backup RB or change of pace back has high stats that arent compareable to the primary RB.
In the following season (2012) where he started 10 games his avg dropped to 4.1. Still ok but the big dropoff in production is noteworthy just because you try to make him look like he was exceptional. Which is not true.
And further its not true what you wrote. He never was productive before we assembled that great line:
His first 1k yrd season was in 2013. In that year the OL already had its final 4 members, with only RG Martin missing. And that RG we were fielding was Bernadeau, a bad pass protector but very good run blocker.
His "breakout" season was a year after with Martin in the lineup. He went for 1.8k, left Dallas to Philly and only started 8 games there. He went to Tennesee after that year were he lasted 2 seasons with 659 yds in his second and that was his career.
As i said Murray was an medicore back. He benefited temendously from our OL and our run based offense.
They rode him for 2,261 all-purpose yards. He was a bell-cow, good blocker and good receiver. Eight consecutive 100 yard games in 2014. He was a beast in that very special year. Pity that Dallas had a crappy defense. Rodgers (on a gimpy ankle) would not have survived that 2022 defense with Parsons and friends. Some of you guys...insufferable. DeMarco was a good back when he wasnt dinged up in his early years. I get some grudges over the fumble and leaving for Philadelphia. The Joneses got their money for him that last season and refused to reward him for it so I dont blame him now for going to get his payday. It seemed to be wise on the Cowboys' part, but he was never used right in Philly. That fumble still upsets me, but we got there in large part on his back that year. He wore teams down, kept offenses off the field, and kept that clock running.
Nothing but love for DeMarco, but I am a Sooner fan. I sat directly behind him at an OKC Thunder game last season and he was there very low-key only attending with his daughter that was 6 or under. He was attentive to her all night. Gerald McCoy also walked up at halftime and talked with him for a bit. He graciously spoke with us, shook my hand, and took a selfie with me.
Defending the truth. Wow. Now you are going to extremes. You sound like some dogmatic fundamentslist ready to blow himself off inside a crowd. Sorry but from this sentence alone you certainly will understand that it will be tough for me to take you serious. My agenda is defending truth against historical revisionism.
Well you sound like i said something different. But you were the one who said he carried the ball for over 1k without the great OL. I claryfied your wrong statement and also told you that this was in 2013.Murray carried the ball an average of 13 times per game for 5.5 yards his rookie year. But, of course, this was due to the brilliant O-line manned by LT Doug free, RT rookie Tyron Smith, LG Montrae Holland, RG Kyle Kosier, and C Phil Costa.
Did you even followed the career of felix and what dallas did with him? Felix was forced to gain weight be ause they wanted him to be a runner he wasnt. Felix career went downhill because of that. He became a very bad rb. So saying Murray was so good because Felix was bad to me shows you try again to cherry pick stuff to make reality fit your points.Meanwhile, the starter for the other half of the season, Felix Jones not only carried the ball less that season, but he also averaged a yard less per run than Murray. Tashard Choice was the 3rd back. he started one game and averaged 2.7 yards a carry.
Why didn't this offensive line carry them like they did Murray?
I think you still dont get the point. Its not about how much yards he gained. Its about how much he did not but could be able to.Two season later, they still don't have Zack Martin yet, Fredericks is a rookie and Murray averages 5.2 yards a carry on his way to a thousand-yard season and the Pro Bowl.
The following season, 2014, Murray breaks the Cowboys record for most yards in a single season.
Too much meat on the bone?
Well good question. It has nothing to do with Murrays problems in open space. And just brcause Zeke gained less yards doesnt make Murray an better back. But i am anxious to get an answer from you.So why did Zeke never surpass Murray's best season for average yards per carry, not even in his most elite years?
You equal things that are not the same. Thats a usual mistake people make to prove their point.Every RB could have gained additional yardage as shown by the game tape. Pointing out the Cowboys record holder in yardage for a season is a questionable strategy for trying to prove mediocrity.
Where, in anything i have said, did I personally arrack your character, intelligence, or diligence?Defending the truth. Wow. Now you are going to extremes. Defending the truth? Question is whos truth you really mean? People who use these kind of fighing-phrases usually dont have the guts to even think about if there is something like real truth.
Most of the time such people use those "battle cries" only to cover their real goals. And that is that they are not able to accept other aspects but want everybody to change to their way of thinking.
Its called bigotry or narrow-mindedness.
Well you sound like i said something different. But you were the one who said he carried the ball for over 1k without the great OL. I claryfied your wrong statement and also told you that this was in 2013.
Now you again exaggeragte by making fun of the OL. Yes tgis wasnt pur great line. But still the line wasnt bad like your narrative is trying to put it. This still were good OL players and good OL.
Why dont you show Murrays stats for the games he was the backup only. And compare those with the games during that season where he started? And put that into comparison with those of the other backs who played for us?
Too much work? Afraid you could find some "truths" that dont fit your "truth"?
Did you even followed the career of felix and what dallas did with him? Felix was forced to gain weight be ause they wanted him to be a runner he wasnt. Felix career went downhill because of that. Honestly such conversations are boring because you have essentially no arguments but instead of trying to understand what i write you just try to disagree.
Thats a reason why i will stop posting about this with you after that post.

Some hints for you to think about:
New QB
Different approach in playcalling
Different defense
Take your time. Complex things take time to find answers. You said your goal is find the truth. And as you know the truth is a very complex thing.
You equal things that are not the same. Thats a usual mistake people make to prove their point.
Of course you are right. But most of the time those things are of academical nature. Every back could gain more. And every back puts work into it to do so. But good backs leave inches on the field. In Murrays case it was so obvious how lost he was when he got into open space. He lost not yards but so often big gains because of amateurish bad runs. And this was an ongoing problem with him.
yes he was the one.I thought that idiot Joseph Randle said that meat on the bone line?
You did not. No worries.Where, in anything i have said, did I personally arrack your character, intelligence, or diligence?
Thanks. And, by the way, let me say that I appreciate the time and the effort you took to respond to my posts. I am absolutely not being sarcastic.
I couldnt remember until you wrote it. But honestly i really do not understand what this has to do with our conversation. That doesnt make him a good back.I don't know your age so I don't know if you were watching the Cowboys during Murray's career here. I saw potential and really felt a spark beginning with Murray's rookie season.
Did you know that Murray was not the designated starter against the Rams his rookie year? he ran 25 times for 253 yards. The following week was his first start.
Its not that way.You now claim that the Cowboys had a "good" O-line during Murray's rookie season. Yet, three of the five were replaced the following year and they drafted O-linemen in the 1st round the next two years. How "good" could they have been?
Sorry to hear that. What will i say? To me its somehow shocking but also interessting to see that there are people out there that have the feeling 2 posts are a very long conversation. If someone would have told me i couldnt believed it.I will leave you with the last word. This conversation has lasted longer than some of my relationships so perhaps we can debate another issue in the future.
