Chiefs, Johnson in standoff over new deal

I'm not saying we should get Johnson but JuJo has never put up better numbers than Johnson and with JuJo running style I don't he puts up better numbers this year. As for McFadden and Slaton they have proven nothing in the NFL so to say they are better than a proven vet is a bit of a reach. Not saying they can't become better but right now Johnson has proven himself

you realize that had Jones carried the ball 416 times last yr he probably would have topped 1700 yds too right?

Johnson has run behind one fo the leagues best OL's the past few seasons...the offensive system he plays in perfectly fits him, you cant say either of those things about JuJO...but we'll see this yr

and yeah, McFadden and Slaton are more talented than Johnson...doesnt mean they'll definitely turn out better, but both have elite RB skills and tremendous speed...I'd rather have either of them next yr than a 27-28yr old RB with a history of being a malcontent and off field issues

I realize that and when many around the league said Johnson would not have a great season in 2006 because problems on the offensive line he still put up over 1700 yards. I don't think Jones is half the back Johnson is just my opinion but Jones has not impressed me at all with his inconsistent play, I would just as soon have Barber getting the majority of carries at this point. As for getting Johnson as I said I'm not saying we should go out and get him only that when it comes to who is the better running back Johnson is the 2nd ranked RB in the NFL JuJo isn't even in the same ball park.

416 carries. Bad sign. Pass.

As has been mentioned, the guy is also a problem in the locker room. We already have one high profile head case- we do NOT need another.

Hmm, the article mentions the Giants as a possible landing spot. Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

Standoff isn't a strong enough word. Trust me it's going to get brutal before this gets settled. Things are just starting to get ugly up here and the locals are not happy with what they see or hear. I love it!

Larry Johnson is defintely worth every dollar he demands! Julius Jones has not proven anything but being a 2 round draft bust! The only excitement Julius has provided was eight games his rookie season. Why is everyone that is in Julius's corner so into him. He has not proven anything but getting his butt whipped well by Marion Barber (14 rushing TDs) beating him to the punch! The III was more valuable of an offensive weapon than Sir Julius. I would defintely try to unload Jones and make the more powerful Larry Johnson a Cowboy, Silver and Blue, who would be Beast of the East.
