Choice for next head coach

McDaniels and Spagnolo will just be more of the same, incapable of real change due to Jerry's meddling.

We need a coach with enough clout to put Jerry in the corner.
agree but don't hold your breath waiting on Mr ego JJ to make that hire

If we are wishing for miracles

Jason Witten for HC

Troy Aikman for GM/ execute VP. Troy like no nonsense people like Jimmy, Parcells and he will fill the whole organization with people like that and not yes boss to Jerry

josh mcdaniels
have him pick the DC from patriots coach family tree
Ginger Red Ball will never be fired until Jerruh goes to that great big Bar in the sky. Stephen will do the dirty deed. Don't ever think Jerruh will fire Ginger. They are probably secret pen pals, if you get my drift.

If you want defense....Steve Wilks. 12 years experience and has consistently coached the best D in the NFL.

I am amongst the first to throw the HC, OC and DC under the bus and am also amongst the first to admit I am not sure who I would want to replace them just yet; but, here are some suggestions (just throwing names against the wall to see what sticks)

Currently a Head Coach
* Sean Payton (NO) - sure, he isn't available, but I thought I saw somewhere else in the Zone that NO may be ready to move on - can't personally see that as they are a top 3 team in the NFC right now, but who knows - would be thrilled to see the press conference where he addresses the media the first time as a Cowboy - I think players would WANT to come to Dallas if he were there
* David Shaw (HC for Stanford) - I always liked this guys style; his teams are always competitive - bring him in as HC and get the right coordinators and this team moves

Currently an OC:
* Matt Cavanaugh (Wash): they have ZERO receivers, their best player (TE) is always hurt, their RB's are by committee and yet, they score and/or are in games - Cousins would suffer without him, IMO - not sure if I would want as a HC, but wouldn't be upset either
* Not sure if it is Mike Gundy (HC) or Mike Yurich calling the plays for Oklahoma St, but they are averaging 47/pts game...take a peak...you see them get behind in a game and then all of a sudden, you blink and they have 40

Currently a DC:
* Matt Eberfuls (one of our own, I think his development has gone on long enough, could see him moving on otherwise) - I could see him as our DC, not a head coach
* Todd Walsh (DC from Jax) - geez, look what those guys are doing with a little talent - they are all over their opponents and turn the ball over - exciting unit to watch
* Wade Phillips (only as a DC) - he made monkeys of Dallas in the Rams game...exposed them for all to see; he makes adjustments!

so, gimme Shaw as the HC with Cavanaugh as the OC and Walsh as the DC? I would be happy....and promote Eberfuls to asst dc (whatever that is called - 2nd in charge for the defense)

Really informed and well thought out post with nice logical choices.
Good job.
Could support this for sure.

Good post but you wouldn't get coordinators on lateral moves.

They were articles this past offseason about the Saints being open to moving on from Payton primarily due to financial problems they are having and his big contract.

Stephen is probably more of a Garrett Fan than Jerry..

Harbaugh is atop my own wish list.

I like those names, as well as Shaw. I'd contact Stoops to be sure he's happy in retirement.

But the fact is that, compared to what we have now, there are tons of better options. Tons.

That's my point. I would rather have anyone right now over JG.

Head Coach- Pat Schumur. Head coach experience, took his lumps with the browns and ready for another shot after working wonders with a depleted Vikings offense.

D Coordinator- Perry Fewell- not a sexy name but brings experience and a ring as a d Coordinator

O Coordinator- John Defillipo- Steal him away from Philly. He’s given a lot of credit for his work with Wentz and will be 1 of the hot coaching names soon.

How bout some young up and comer college coach?
