I'm all for running Zeke early and often. I'm just questioning the choice of runs. Why do the Cowboys choose to run Zeke so often between the tackles right into the teeth of the defense? Moreover when we do it is pretty predictable (usually first down). Anyone want to tackle that one?

Linehan can’t coach. Play calling is horrible

These plays are also dependant on pulling. When we pull the Texans shot right thru the gaps. When we block straight up man to man it seems to be working.

Our run plays has be as bad as our passing plays. Predictable, takes too long to develop and fools no one.

Linehan had one series of play calls that were awesome, then back to the 90s. I'm dying inside for this team.

It's quite remarkable really. Every so often, he has a series of playcalls and they look good, somewhat innovative and seem to work well......then it all stops and reverts back to the same old thing. It makes you wonder, if someone else called those plays, while Linehan had to hit the can. He just turns to some random guy in the booth and asks if he can call a few plays while he takes a leak.

Got to love the "ban" on the rpo play calls. Don't think I saw one last night. Of course they have great DEs, but man at run a few

Not to mention motioning Beasley into the backfield on 3rd and 1 in overtime. All that did was bring another defender into the box.

We got away with the bad playcalling because our o line in its prime was so dominant that they could push guys back and still bust those holes. Not so this year. The coaches actually have to WORK and call creative plays or else you'll see the results we've been seeing for the past year. Who DOESN'T know that we're going to run the ball on 1st down? 2nd and short, run again. 2nd and long, pass play. Having a predictable offense doesn't work anymore when you don't have a team full of superstar talent, and that's not happening in the salary cap era for more than a year or two.

I dont really care for the 3 tight end look, especially around the goal line, if you are going to run it between the tackles. That puts too many defenders in the box.

I would much rather they go 4 wides and a RB in the spread. It at least limits the number of guys that Zeke has to deal with if you are going to run it inside.

They think they still have Ron Leary and Frederick and they are just going to line up and run it down every teams throat.

Dallas could still do that if they had the defense with a mentality that something else could happen.

Some sideways football would be greatly beneficial for our run game up the middle.

Not enough running off tackle. It would also slow down the pass rush on the ends.

Thank you for this post. This has been bugging me since 2016. Can we ever run the stretch play? Remember Manning handing off the Edgering James? We never run a misdirection or a draw out of shotgun or run with 3 or 4 wr’s.

Time to dump the zone read. Zeke and the OL are losing that initial momentum through he hesitation of the read by Dak. Just hand the man the ball.

Its baffling really. Years and years of the same crap. The defense 100% knows what is coming and then you put a 5'7 150lb WR to block on top of that?
