There are many valid reasons to fire Jason Garrett as head coach of the Cowboys, but none sticks out to me as prominently as the way his teams consistently choke down the stretch and miss the playoffs as a result. The tale of the tape...

2013: 7-5 after 12 games. Went 1-3 in the final four games to finish 8-8 and out of the playoffs.
2012: 8-6 after 14 games. Went 0-2 in the last two games to finish 8-8 and out of the playoffs.
2011: 7-4 after 11 games. Went 1-4 in the final five games to finish 8-8 and out of the playoffs.

In a healthy organization, you fire this guy right now and find a better replacement. Unfortunately, Dallas is the polar opposite of a healthy organization, and we are likely to bring him back for another season of disappointment.

he should have been fired after last year

but he is "learning" and "we want to benefit from it"

Defense, Defense, Defense... Plus Garrett not running the football and getting pass happy all the time. Its like he doesn't know what to do in critical situations and allows the players to make them instead. And when they make the wrong one he throws them under the bus and doesn't take the blame.

I have absolutely no hope for next year with him as our coach.

This was his year to do something and he failed bigtime.

Garrett has been a dissapointment but I'm not sure any coach would have done better with this injury ravaged team. I do give him props for getting the team ready to play the Eagles with a backup Qb. The team played hard, we just couldnt couldnt win in the red zone, which is generally a strength.

It is not Garrett. Blame Romo or something.

Injuries were why we could not run the football more? News to me.

The defense did it's job last night considering what was out there.

The last statement is not entirely true. We benefited from shorter field position this year due to returns and turnovers. and it was only this year that the RZ stat looked good. The last couple years, we were horrible in the RZ. The difference this year? Different OC (which I don't think he did all that great either). Our offense has not really improved much in JG's tenure. Like I said, take away returns and TO's and look at it that way

Not to mention our only win down the stretch this year was on a miracle 4th down play against the worst team in the league.

I was speaking about this year in the red zone. However, field position doesn't always translate to Red Zone success. And by success I mean Tds, not field goals. Check the stats from 2011, our field position was better in 2011, but our red zone % was not.

Your missing the point. We've had more turnovers this year, that moves the percentage up for RZ%. So we should have a better RZ%. However, do you still think our offense is efficient? It's not. We haven't been efficient since Tony and TO were lighting it up and that was mostly due to Sparano not JG.

What about 2010, 09, 08.... You people make me laugh with all this Garrett stuff. The problem is bigger than Garrett and it has been for a long time.

Offense
Defense
HC
OC
DC
Player's name
GM
Owner

No matter the excuse...The Dallas Cowboys have a process of Choking. It works well for them.

I'm sick of the defense injured excuse.

The entire offense was out there 98% of the time this year. The Oline has much improved. Last year NO was missing there HC, DC, and had the worst defense in history, but Bree's and company was still throwing up points like it was going out of style.

This coach sucks and does not know how to fix it. That's the problem, he doesn't know the problem!
