Isn't he a restricted FA? If so, nope. If not, for the right price I would.

Ivory is a good back but frankly given all the RB in this draft I think Dallas could find a quality back in the later rds and not end up paying as much as they would for a vet RB like Ivory.

I think fans in alot of places (Jets, Detroit, Miami, Indy, Denver, St. L) have penciled in Ivory on some $1.5mm deal. He would be a great pickup for many teams.

No. Get your running backs fresh in the draft unless they're truly special.

I'm a big fan of Ivory, too. There were just too many players to share the ball with in New Orleans. He reminds me of when Michael Turner was stuck stuck in San Diego, someone who could really shine if they were given more opportunity. His career 5+ ypc speaks for itself, and when people who do advanced stats calculate missed tackles per touch he ranks right up there with the elite backs. The biggest problem I have with him is he gets injured right about the time you think he's going to really bust out.

Did we not learn our lesson with Marion Barber?

Big backs don't last long. Natrone Means, William Andrews, Marion Butts, Christian Okoye, Brandon Jacobs, Mike Alstott....they flash, and then they're gone.

Jerome Bettis is a rare exception.

I can easily come up with a list of "small" backs who had similar career arcs over a similar 30 year timespan. Gaston Green, Mike Rozier, Cadillac Williams, Rueben Mayes, Dalton Hillard. RBs get hurt, end of story, that doesn't mean they're not vital. If you're counting on any RB to carry the ball 330 times over a 5-6 year span you're looking for an anamoly. That's why teams like SF and Baltimore stockpile several of them. And Ivory runs a legit 4.4 is far from a one dimensional plodding bruiser.
