Johnson will get at least eight days of practice in before Week 1, giving him plenty of time to prepare to play against against the Jaguars. Owners drafting this weekend can safely select CJ2K No. 1 overall in most formats. Even if he is eased in slowly at first, Johnson will resume every-down status rapidly. His deal includes a whopping $30 million in guarantees and a $13.3 million annual salary. If those numbers hold up upon further examination, CJ2K will have gotten exactly what he wanted -- elite player, not just elite running back money.

Man. Paying a running back around $13M a year is a tough pill to swallow.

At least he will only be 29 or 30 when it concludes. It seems the deal includes $30 million in guarantees too.

I don't like him at all and that contract is a good chunk but titans are smart bout it by the time he is 30 they can part ways. Not like a nnamdi contract 5 years for a 30 yr old guy

Well, good for him. Now those fake fans can spend their hard earned money from their regular jobs to see that jack *** play the game he loves getting paid for.

Come on you know it is not about the money. :lmao:

Unbelieveable. Must of had Al Davis in on the negotiations and Snyder as the liason.

That's an extension, not a new contract. He had a year or two left on his contract and he was making much. I think the numbers just look inflated now but in reality, he won't make that much per season; but then I could be wrong.

The Titans won't get their money's worth. He will probably be good, but not good enough to overcome their other short comings. They don't have a QB. Even if Locker becomes a good QB, it won't be for a few years and by then CJ's contract will be near its end. Plus I don't think he will do much this year because he has so much preparation and practice time.

Crazy money for a RB but, like I've said before, if you can get it then go out and get it.

30 mil guranteed is a ton. But D Williams just got 21 mil. At least the contract was for 4 years and he will only be 29 when it's up. They are not paying a 29 or 30 year old...CJ is 25.

Home-run hitting RBs fit well in totday's NFL. It's VERY hard to march the ball down field anymore with the old 3 yeards a nd cloud of dust thing. Big plays are an absolute must.

Over the last two years Johnson (not surprisingly) leads all RBs with a whopping 35 plays of 20 yards or more. Runnerup was Adrian Peterson at "only" 21.

The good news for Cowboy fans is that Felix Jones is also a home run hitter.
