If you were starting a team from scratch, which of these two players would you choose for your team?

Peterson, hed set the tone id want from my offense and defense.

Peterson, and I wouldn't bat an eye before making the pick.

Ask all you want just don't expect an answer.

Right now, I think Peterson has got a much, much better supporting cast around him, Johnson is still putting up great numbers on a team that looked like they could be heading for the first pick for a while because the coach was more interested in grooming his Magnum PI tache. Peterson, despite his amazing speed, power and moves puts it on the deck a lot. When he gets over that, yeah he'd be my choice. Right now, I'd go with Mr.Johnson.

I'll answer that for you. Let me think. in his first year of being a pro he ran for 1,228 and caught 43 passes for 10 tds and 1 fumbled lost. In his second season he is on pace to rush for 2,000 yards. Right now he sits at 1,626 with 13 tds and has caught 42 passes for 380 yards. He is the only back in NFL history to have 3 plays of more than 85 yards for a Td and he is in his 2nd season. With only one fumbled lost.

Give me Chris Johnson allday!

Johnson is better right now and I am and always have been a huge fan.....more yards, FAR less fumbles, better ypc, better receiver, less injuries...he leads in everything almost.....HOWEVER.....:)

However, I would STILL take AP because of his physical style combined with nice speed. There is something about him. If this CJ trend of dominance continues for another year I may have a change of heart.

It's a great argument and anyone who thinks it's a slam dunk either way is just inserting personal bias and not objectivity.

It is a very good argument. I am a big AD fan but his fumbles are a major concern.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP)—When it came to talking trash about who’s faster, NFL rushing leader Chris Johnson won going away Wednesday.

Johnson said speedy Miami Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn Jr.(notes) stood him up when they agreed to a foot race during a summer pool party on Miami Beach.

“We were going to race down Ocean Drive,” said Johnson, who considers himself the league’s fastest player. “I walked down to the street, and he never showed up.”

The subject arose during a conference call with South Florida media. Johnson and his Tennessee Titans play the Dolphins on Sunday.

Johnson said the race was arranged at a party last offseason attended by Ginn, Dolphins teammate Joey Porter(notes) and other NFL players.

“Him and Joey Porter were talking about how he could beat me,” Johnson said. “When it came down to it, he was a no-show.”

Ginn said the idea for the race didn’t come from him or Johnson.

“It wasn’t anything like I didn’t show up,” Ginn said. “It wasn’t like I went to him to say, ‘Let’s race.’ There were some guys at the party who wanted to say who was faster, so they started the rumor. It’s not like I’m denying it or I’m scared of him.”

So who’s faster?

“I feel like I could beat him,” Ginn said. “He feels like he could beat me.”

Johnson was less diplomatic when asked if he’s faster than Ginn.

“That’s not even a legitimate question,” Johnson said.

Is Johnson faster than Olympic champion Usain Bolt?

“That’s a better question,” Johnson said. “I think I would beat him like in the 50.”

Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder(notes) declined to side with his teammate. He said Johnson would beat Ginn—and perhaps Bolt, too.

“He might roll Bolt in the 100,” Crowder said. “Y’all don’t know how fast that boy is. He is fast, fast, fast. Flat-out FAST—capital letters.”

Johnson has rushed for 1,626 yards this season and could become the sixth player to reach the 2,000 milestone. He had a time of 4.24 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine last year.

Ginn is a former national prep champion in the high hurdles who played at Ohio State.

“He’s pretty fast,” Johnson said. “But a lot of people get it mistaken at the conference he played at. Was it the Big Ten? They’re a slow conference. They don’t have fast guys in that conference. It automatically makes him look like he’s a real fast guy.”

Johnson said he has never taken part in the sort of challenge race arranged with Ginn.

“They say they want to,” he said, “but they end up backing out.”

Chris Johnson is crazy fast and isn't afraid to lower his shoulder either...

Watch the guy play, he's on another level.

Peterson is a monster and has everything you would look for in a player but Johnson is so much faster than everyone else that its almost unfair.

Who do you pick? Who knows?

Both are phenomenal. I might lean towards Peterson because it seems like Johnson might be a borderline d-bag.

Tashard Choice, Felix Jones and Marion Barber all over any other RB in the NFL.

If I had to pick one, whichever would be able to get me to trade for all 3 of those.

No, I prefer any one of those 3 over any other RB, all 3 is just extra.

:star: or bust.

Oh dear...

Anyway my pick would be Chris Johnson. It would be tough to not pick AP, cause he's an outstanding player, but Chris Johnson gives you not only that threat to go the distance very time he carries the ball but he gives you a much better, more versitile (Spelled wrong I'm sure) receiver out of the backfield.

Plus he doesn't fumble nearly as often as AP.
