If they're there in the 6, maybe use one of our selections on them since it appears Stanback will be a WR/KR?

I'd take Troy Smith with one of our sixth round picks.

Cowboys reportedly like Lester Ricard from Tulane as a late round QB possibility. 6'5" 220 lbs with a huge arm. He was a highly recruited player who originally signed with LSU, but left because to get out from underneath Jamarcus Russell. The Cowboys brought him in for a workout a couple of weeks ago.

Chris Leak has problems reading Ds and is rather small and short, trust me when I tell you he is about 5'10", 190.

Troy Smith will get drafted as a project out of pity.

Ricard would be the best of the ones mentioned.

Leak and Smith are short and can't read defenses.

I can't believe Troy smith has fallen so low... he was in a sophisticated pro offense, is athletic, smart, and a hard worker. His hieght shouldn't be a problem. God, teams are so myopic...think about it. Smith did not have a single offensive lineman shorter than 6'4, and people forget that Smith became a pocket passer his senior year to show people that he doesn't need to run around to be effective. Watch, mark my words, this guy would have been great. Now, I question that because he may go to a team that may cut him because he may not develop fast enough to meet thier patience level. Damn I hope he proves all the teams who passed on him to be idiots.

Chris Leak was in a gimmic offense that nfl teams know if they ran they would get ralphed on by opposing teams. He throws a nice ball though; he should go to a west coast team, maybe seattle.

OF COURSE I CHOOSE TROY SMITH

Already a has been, I guess...?

He may well be dude. I think if he had gone higher, he would have been given more time to acclimate himself to an nfl offense. Hiesman or not, it is hard for a 6/7 round pick to make an AR. I am just so confused people think he is a reach. I am not an O-State fan.

Leak He's a smart kid. He's won championships on every level so far. Height shouldn't make a difference it's not like Romo is 6'5.

But why do you think that is ?

Seriously. He is a good college player, that doesnt always translate to a good Pro players, especially at the QB position.

He was in a gimmick offense though. Nobody runs that type of spead offense in the nfl. He never worked under center in college, and that is bad. If you are in a shotgun formation in the nfl , defenses will go into a nickel formation probably because they know you will probably be passing it or do a draw play. Go back and look at the Florida offense. If an nfl team tried to do that, besides the Atlantca Falcons (who have michael vick and his tremendous speed so they could work the spread offense, Leak is NOT fast) they would get killed. It would be funny to watch. Smart or not, he isnt even Romo coming out of college. Leak will work in a west-coast offense where his weak arm won't matter, and he can use his "smarts", like in Seattle.
