cut by the jags, anyone know much about this guy? seems like he was a pretty good run blocker... maybe he could provide cheap competition to kosier at LG?

Good player for a long time but i suspect he'll want to start and probably get the chance somewhere.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars released veteran guard Chris Naeole on Monday, parting with a key member of the offensive line.
Naeole, a first-round pick by New Orleans in 1997, started 87 games for the Jaguars over the last six seasons.
But the 33-year-old lineman missed the final eight games last year after tearing a quadriceps tendon. He also skipped a voluntary passing camp last May because he was unhappy with his contract.
It was unclear why the Jaguars released Naeole, who had two years remaining on his contract and would have made $2.1 million next season.
Without Naeole, the Jaguars could turn the position over to durable backup Dennis Norman or second-year player Uche Nwaneri. Jacksonville also might re-sign free agent Maurice Williams, who filled in for Naeole last season.

I could see him being an upgrade over Kosier if he were healthy, but the Jaguars were worried about his recovery from injury.

And, given the Cowboys' cap situation, he may be a luxury they cannot afford.

Cant see the need to add another OL player over the age of 30 when we have young quality back ups with the possibility of adding more through the draft

Exactly, vets are the last thing this offense needs.

Actualy we do need vets but only those who can help us and can provide vet leadership/experience which our young team lacks. The few vets over 30 on our team aren't leaders at all.

Yes, he's a good run blocker, but he'll probably want some decent money and that's too much for a probable backup. We're really fine at guard if everybody stays healthy. Better off finding a quality backup in the draft.

I know Ditka got hammered for drafting him in the first round back in the day.
