Chris Palmer seems to be the main name floating around in the metroplex (Spags,Dennis & Engle) to be Parcells next O/C.

Was with Parcells in New York AND New England.

Was Bledsoe's QB coach in 1996 the superbowl year.

Cannot deny the Parcells and Bledsoe connection..

Stay Tuned...

It would represent the status quo - mediocre coaching staff coaching mediocre talent leads to mediocre results.

He was fired by the Texans midseason this year wasnt he? Now that organization has a lot of problems which don't include Palmer but its not exactly an inspiring pick.
Come to think about it, wasnt he the first head coach of the Browns when they reformed? Palmer didnt do a great job there either, including a crappy pick for their future at QB.

Here is an article from the Houston Chronicle after he was fired:

Palmer, who has been the offensive coordinator since the team's inception, also called the plays.

The Texans lost to Pittsburgh 27-7 after losing to Buffalo 22-7 in the opener. Houston has averaged the fewest yards (170.5), fewest passing yards (66.5) and points (7) in the NFL through its first two games.

In Sunday's game, quarterback David Carr appeared to be confused and bewildered. He was sacked eight times -- the most since the expansion year in 2002 and one shy of the most in the team's 50-game history.

Against Buffalo, Houston allowed five sacks and had five turnovers.

Palmer joined the Texans after being fired after one season as coach of the Cleveland Browns.

True.
But hey...Parcells likes "his guys".
No wonder he hasn't won without Belichick.

I read in another forum that when he was OC with the Jags that his offense was ranked #3 in the NFL one time with 394 points. And in another season he ranked pretty high to with 392 points.

He might be better then some of us think. If we get him I will give him a chance. Just hope that HEEE will actually get to call the plays and not have Parcells overturning all kindsa plays.

We could do alot worse.

I REALLY hope you are wrong. But my gut tells me you are closer to being right.

I followed the Browns fairly closely their first coupla years back, and Palmer really ran them into the ground. Some of the mismanagement belongs to the crooked ex-49er braintrust, but Palmer did not strike me as being very versatile. If you have exactly what he needs, it can cook, but he tried to install an overly complex offense onto two different expansion teams. Was not impressed with him in either place. Not something that would make me feel good about the upcoming season....

Palmer? Not the sexy pick I was hoping for.......

Well we might get Tony Sporano as O/C....Palmer looks like pin-up model compared to that pick!!
