That's cause he's going to Ohio St.
Sure is. Already has an agreement in place. Wonder what he can do with Braxton Miller. Would take a Chris Leak type career if anything.

Bring him on cause this has been a lost season.

Hopefully the reports are true.

LOL at this whenever it comes up by people who know nothing about Chris Petersen. Or who haven't spent enough, or any, time in Boise to "get" living here.

Petersen was an assistant at Pitt and UO. He hates meddling alumni/boosters and that was one of the reasons he left both of those jobs.

Does any really believe he can go to any current BCS program and not have to deal with that?

He has seen his predecessors at BSU (Dirk Koetter and Dan Hawkins) go on to what were perceived as "better" jobs and both regret their decisions.

Petersen is doing at BSU what he can't do at a current BCS program; build a program from the ground up. BSU has great football history but it is as a JC and D1-AA program. Petersen has his hands in nearly all of BSU's success as a D1 team. That is something he can never have at a Stanford or a UO. He would always be following in someone else's footsteps anywhere except at BSU.

Within about 5 years, BSU's football facilities will rival any national powerhouse's facilities, as he has asked for. They will be breaking ground on the new football athletic facility in a few months and the stadium expansion is close on the horizon.

Petersen doesn't have to deal with overbearing news media in Boise. He pretty much walks on water and isn't questioned here. Nobody infringes on his privacy in Boise and he can lead a fairly normal life outside of football. He has repeatedly stated how important that is to him.

The guy isn't about money or image and isn't going to jump to some other program because they think they are all that.

That stadium expansion sounds pretty cool.

I've heard they are going to lower the field level in order to build more seats in the area that used to be the track now that the track and field stuff is being moved down the street a bit.

Peterson learned under the master... the great Jim Sochor...

Had Sochor ever wanted to move to a big-time program he only had to pick up the phone...

He will go somewhere eventually, but I'm not sure he is personally ready yet... maybe UT in a couple of years when Mack retires...
