I could not help but laugh when I saw Kellen Mond at 4. Come on Chris, really? lol
At least with QBs, he has had a much better track record in recent years than any of the media draft experts. He doesn’t just give his opinion from watching games. He goes to games, talks to people, and studies every bit of film available because he has made no secret for several years that he wants to be a gm. Again, at least with QBs, he been much more spot on that draft publications.

and I disagree with him on Mond. sorry. I think he makes good points with the other QB in the draft but Mond I see as a mid rd pick who I doubt will be a starting QB. We will see. I have not found anyone perfect when talking draft.

I like Sam Ehlinger but I think it was a mistake for him to declare for the draft this year. He had the chance to remain at Texas for this coming season and given the fact he is viewed as a mid rd pick he could have remained and continued to develop himself both physically and mentally as a QB
Mond looked great at the senior bowl.....MVP

Good, I'm sorry I have watched many of his games and never walked away feeling impressed or that he had great command of the offense. If you and Simms thinks he great, I have no issue with it. I don't wish bad on Mond just not a guy I have been impressed with

No mention of Kyle Trask???

Trask only passed for more yards than any college QB other than Alabama's Mac Jones, and Trask passed for the most TDs and a passer rating of 180. Trask easily was a better passer than all QBs whom Chris Simms listed other than maybe 1. All accomplished while playing in the toughest conference in college football, the SEC.

I believe Kyle Trask is being overlooked the way Aaron Rodgers was when he was drafted. Most definitely Tom Brady was the biggest overlooked passing QB to come out of college. I believe Trask has the arm, size, smarts and ability to become a very good pro QB. If the Cowboys are able to pick up an extra 2nd round pick, I would seriously consider using that later 2nd round pick on Kyle Trask if he's still available.

I don't think you and I have agreed on QB's since there has been Cowboys message boards, but first time for everything! Arm strength always seems to be a way of knocking any QB prospect that can't throw a ball through a brick wall. Trask is going to be a steal for somebody...hopefully it's us.

No doubt he will get his chance and likely since he is not rated as highly as say a Lawrence, Trask will likely land on a team that is not a bottom dwelling team who does not have talent to put around him.

EXACTLY!

This is a "please look at my controversial draft" mock.

The best I can say is Mond will get drafted based on what I have seen and read he likely will be a mid rd pick. Could he develop into a good NFL QB? sure but when I see him rated as high as Simms had him then I question it. I have 0 against Mond all I can go by is what I have seen from him at Texas A&M and I never was overly impressed. Very streaky in his play and his decision making. With the right team and coaches maybe that changes, he is not a day 1 starter and should have time to work and develop. I wish him the best.

I was not impressed with what I saw of Mond. He has talent, but he needs to sit behind an established quarterback and learn a few years at least.

I too was taken aback by Simms ranking him as the fourth best quarterback. And Wilson before Lawrence? That's like ranking Blackledge ahead of Elway in the 83 draft.

Simms is trying to create a reaction among fans. Nothing more.

Fair enough. The good thing is arm strength and grip strength can be improved, and Dallas' training room coaches got picked this past season as one of the best in the NFL. With proper training, Trask has the body height, build and muscle mass to improve his average-at-best arm strength and ball zip.
Not really, especially not for someone his age. I don't think there's a player who has ever come into the league and noticeably improved arm strength.

He's a poor athlete. There's no upside there. He's just taller Chad Pennington.
