Chris Simms and Matt Schaub

Schaub was a 3rd round draft pick. By the RFA rule, we would have to give up a 3rd if we signed him. The only way 1st round picks come into play is if Atlanta franchises him. At least that is my understanding of how Restricted Free Agency works

You're a bit misinformed, Billy...

There is a level of tender that the Saints could offer that would get them the same draft pick in return as they spent acquiring the guy (obviously, if he was an undrafted rookie free agent, there would be no compensation at that level)... for Schaub, that would be a third rounder...

But there are two, higher levels of tender that would get the Falcons a first round draft pick as compensation, or even a first and a third rounder... it all depends on how high they're willing to tender Matt...

If we draft Stanton in anywhere before the 6th round I will punch my TV.

they are two of the top free agent quarterbacks and relatively young and have a lot of upside. Simms is 26 and Schaub is 25.

If Romo struggles or if we are not sure about him do we go after these guys?
Or should we draft a QB like Stanton or Russell? Quinn will not be in our range unless we really tank and I don't kow about Brohm or Palmer.

Schaub equals YES.........Simms please help me

You want a 290 pound tackle??

I don't... Steinbach would be a good fit with the Broncos, who rely heavily on small but quick linemen, but not so well with the Cowboys...

Steinbach is exactly what Dallas is looking for at guard.

Simms is horrible and nobody will know anything more about Schaub than we know about Romo at this point, unless that RB Vick gets hurt and he plays alot...he would also prob cost a 1st and 3rd rd pick...

I don't think either guy is really more proven than Romo. Simms was horrible this year and only mediocre last year. Schaub has never really done much and imo he's way overrated by this board. If you're going to replace Romo after putting all this work into him, don't replace him with some second rater. Get somebody like Drew Brees.

If Purcells stays and Simms is available, guess who we go after?

Lemme give you a hint: Tuna is trying to build the "all sons" team.

After Simms, he'll chase down Ran Carthon.

I do admire the guy's loyalty, but it is blind most times.
