07:30 AM ET 07.02 | Titans quarterback Chris Simms was busted early this morning in the West Village driving high on marijuana with his 8-months pregnant wife in the passenger seat. "I was smoking marijuana in the car earlier," Simms told cops, prosecutor Lauren Perry said. "My client never admitted to smoking marijuana that night. He said he was smoking cigarettes that night," said Simms' attorney, Nathan Semmel, who revealed that two other unnamed passengers were in the car at some point during the evening. "The DA should investigate whether those two individuals were responsible for the marijuana odor."

This is a goofy statement.

First is the obivous point that the measure of how successful a univeristy is at a sport is how they fare in competition. If, as you say, all their players suck as pros then it could be argued that UT is actually underrated because it is normally assumed that they win in large part due to overwhelming talent, when your point is that have less than stellar talent yet find a way to win anyway.

Second, tell that to Tom Landry.

Then tell that to Brian Orakpo, Casey Hampton, Jermichael Finley, Shaun Rogers, Nathan Vasher, Michael Griffen, Cedrick Griffin, Ricky Williams, Jamaal Charles, Leonard Davis, Phil Dawson, Quniten Jammer, Cory Redding, Cedrick Benson, Justin Blalock .......

And if you want to go back further .......Earl Campbell, Jerry Gray, Priest Holmes, Doug English, Tommy Nobis, Ray Clayborn, Bobby Layne, Johnny Johnson, Eric Metcalf, Steve McMichael, Diron Talbert, Tony Brackens, Mike Baab, Stanley Richard .......

Only a couple of other colleges can compete with Texas in terms of the number of players supplied to the NFL.
