Chris Simms has fired his agent because of the slow pace of his negotiations with the Bucs.

The team is now negotiating to bring Brian Griese back, which isn't great news for Simms. Simms is likely to get a one year, $2 million tender offer as a restricted free agent which would make it very difficult for another team to sign him. Simms obviously wants to be the long-term starter in Tampa.

He'll have a better chance of that once he stops throwing interceptions in playoff games.

In all fairness only one of those interceptions were his fault. I think he will be pretty good in the coming years.

Why would he fire his agent already? Wouldn't it make more sense for the agent to wait for the CBA so he can get even more money for his client?

I was thinking the same thing. His timing isn't so good after Upshaw just instructed agents to slow play negotiations until the CBA gets done.
