SIMMS HAD A RUPTURED SPLEEN
We've confirmed via a league source that Bucs quarterback Chris Simms is in stable condition following the removal of his spleen. Peter King of NBC reported the information moments ago on NBC, citing Simms' mothter as the source.
Simms will remain in the hospital, we hear, for two days or so. He is expected to miss two months.
