I cannot be sure but this looks to me like someone practicing the 1 technique. He doesn't appear to be moving across the formation. We're seeing the first step. His next step would see him able to make a move move upfield planting off his inside foot. If the double team comes, he can dig into the guard and sit down on his back knee. One more step without changing direction and Lett would be the center he'd crash into.

I don't know what to make of the look on Marinelli's face.

Looks to me like he's just making an aggressive move to pull the one guy's pants down. The curly haired dude thinks that's a bad idea and wants him to hold up (while simultaneously trying not to sample a recent ripe fart). Coach in the background may have come up with the whole idea.

Bear in mind, I'm not a real football guy.

I'm not real sure what to make of this pic other than he looks like he's practicing without pads... but it sure is good to see him on the field. As long as Whaley, McClain, or Bishop can sub-plant Hayden I'll be excited. That's no knock on Hayden tho, He's atleast been injury free and consistent. He's just not a play maker. I'd love to see more push up the middle, exp since the Boys will see more quality QB's this year.

Yes...pulling down Leon Lett's pants is probably not a good idea. :p

A lot of assumptions from a still pic.
It's OTA's and learning, not a drill or true practice. I wouldn't read too much into it. But I'm sure the coaches know what to look at being there to see the entire sequence of things.

In the Ota you could see he swaps from 1tech to 3tech we need interchangeable players so it's all good.

Whaley is a guy I am really excited to see this training camp and pre season. He is quick off the snap and gets into the back field quickly. Even when he does not make the tackle himself he causes big disruption in the back field.

They're allowing Whaley in on the action and that's probably about all we can glean from this pic right now.
The 3 tech is more likely to be his most useful position on the defensive line. At least, he'll be well rounded.

From the still photo you can tell Hutchinson's release point is higher than Henson's but that Henson has more power...what? Wrong thread? Sorry. [Backs away slowly]

Shoot, shoot and hold, game, jet, twist, slant, and loop. Without seeing more you can't tell.
