Understand that CM has been banged up in his career. Also remember, for the first 5 years of his career, he played for the Carolina Panthers and pretty much carried the team on offense.

When he went to SF, I figured he'd be a force to reckon with not being stuck in a dumpster fire any longer. I have no doubt mentally, he is enjoying his time in SF way more than when he was in Carolina.

They list him at 5'11" 205. I think they're being generous with both numbers. Neither of which has much bearing on his ability to play the game.. but have meaning in terms of staying healthy. He's a smaller back with his mom's track speed and his old man's toughness. Dude can play.. gonna be a challenge and a half for our defense this week. I do think our defense is better than it was last year.. so it's gonna be a little harder to open any gaping holes in it. Then again it's not like they ran it up and down the field the last time the teams met. Gonna be a fun one!

So he measured 5'11" 1/4 and 202 at the combine. Fine. He looks thinner and shorter to me but okay. The point stands.. He's smallish for an NFL running back which is likely why he has missed like 25% of his games since entering the league. He's not getting any bigger or any younger so I expect him to get hurt again. Especially if the 49ers keep insisting on him getting 25-30 touches a game.

Oh and one last thing.. Guys train like madmen to get ready for the combine.. Weight and 40 times are two things that aren't likely to ever be the same as they were at that moment after 3 months of intense training to hit specific targets and perform specific tasks. Some of which have little or nothing to do with football.
