And I know some don’t like the zone, but it’s about personnel and coaching. There are multiple ways to run a defense.

If anyone is interested in debating that, I have some thoughts about how both man and cover are highly successful with examples.

I like seeing how our players might fit in on a particular scheme and with Fangio, it’s easy because we all have some degree of familiarity with the Eagles players. I like his base because our weakest position group, LB, only needs a MLB to fit. We can make Clowney and EZ edge LBs and run our three tackles all at the same time

He was the DB coach in Denver. When he went to the Eagles to become their Passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach, Leonhard went to Denver to take his DB job.

He’s only 34.

He also worked for Norte Dame, Texas A&M and the Packers.
