Chunn back to practice squad, or cut Morris?

No matter what, keep Mike Weber (practice or real squad). He's my pet cat.:p
Ugh. I don't like Weber at all. Slowback who can't catch or elude tackles. Always getting stuffed at the line or tries to bounce outside with his limited agility. Do not like that player at all. Would have kept Jackson over him.

What should happen and what will happen is probably 2 different things

My guess is they hang on to the vet but I would keep Chunn

That's an interesting question. The other possibility would be to cut another position. They have an excess of O-Linemen right now.
I just think 5 backs is way too many considering Zeke and Pollard should log 100% of the HB snaps, barring injury. Olawale is the FB and Jarwin can fill in there as well.

I have no idea how Morris made the 53 to begin with. Zero burst left

Because Zeke is not in camp and they want a guy who can without a doubt pick up blitzes.

Once Pollard proves he can do that then that would be it for Morris.

With Zeke here they have the best blocking RB in football so no need for Morris as a blocker or runner.

I bet Jeff Heath can fill in. He’s our Swiss Army knife.. Just to PO the zone.

What to do now?

Depends on how ready they think Elliott is. If they don't know if he'll be able to handle more than a few snaps, then they'll probably stick with Morris. They had no problem getting Chunn to the practice squad, so I can't see them having an issue with it again.

The interesting thing is that Morris' salary is fully guaranteed if he's on the roster for the first game. That would make it in the team's best interest to cut him, but if Dallas doesn't, then I would think it's likely for the team to carry him for the season because it's already paying him.

yes and you need all that money to extend Maliek Collins

Or to put another of the injured players, such as Gifford, on injured reserve. That would make sense to some extent because Chunn is primarily a special-teammer, which would likely be Gifford's role right now. It would be unusual, though, to have four backs active for the game.

Weber was running behind 3rd and 4th stringers and grocery baggers and still showed a few flashes. Jackson got more opportunities with the 1st and 2nd string blockers which helps you look a little better. I hope we keep Weber and groom him for the future. I followed him in high school and college. He's not slow. He clocked 4.3 at the combine, but his official was 4.47 which was 3rd fastest so not bad. Maybe he's not ready yet, but he has potential and he's cheap right now. And, oh yeah, he can catch out of the backfield. I've seen him do it.

True, but Morris is making peanuts. League minimum I think. He got a 90K signing bonus. I know they love him but Morris is who I would cut. Chunn could become a nice backup and he’s young and cheap. I would offer Morris a coaching gig if they want to keep him around and he wants it. They could sign him as a player at any time it was needed and he would have full access to the facility to stay in shape in case it happens.
