I think most people just assumed B. Young was going to go to Carolina. However, since the trade, CJ Stroud has moved into being the heavy favorite to go first overall.

As he should. He is the best of the bunch imo. Now, Carolina gave up their best wr in the trade so idk who they expect him to throw to.

They can probably get someone at #39 like Downs or Mims.

Robbie Anderson is back on the market.

I don’t want a runt at QB
The way Stroud played against Georgia put him up there in my eyes

Reich is a great offensive coach

I think Carolina can be really good in 2-3 years if they stick with these 2

Young will be the better QB. If he can stay healthy. I say that due to his size. But I rather draft him because he so is great at his reads and decisiveness. CJ relys on his arm talent 2 many times.

Probably the right call given Young's size. Or Levis but you wouldn't have to trade to #1 for him I don't think.

Some media guy that covers the Panthers was on sports talk radio and said the team really likes Levis.

Yes. That has been long known. But he isn’t their qb1. They liked him at 9

Utter insanity for Stroud to NOT go #1. Young is the only other player that should even be considered at #1.

Maybe Carolina will trade the pick again. Stranger things have happened.

As he should be. He’s the safest QB pick in the draft. To me, his floor (assuming he doesn’t mega bust) is a Carr, Prescott, Tannehill QB. He has the potential to be better though.

Maybe it will be Young though. I think it would be if he was an inch taller.

Richardson and Levis need to go to teams where they can sit for a while like Mahomes. I worry Richardson is going to be drafted by some team that needs a starter and will be thrust into the fire too early.

They must have had info that another team was willing to trade with Bears to draft Stroud. Else why move all the way to #1

I get why Carolina made this move, but I don't love it.

They need a QB. The parade of Teddys and Bakers and Darnolds just wasn't cutting it, and going into week 1 with more of the same would basically be throwing away the season.

But I don't like giving up that much draft capital for Stroud. I don't think he'll bust - he is already far ahead of most college QBs in terms of football IQ and ball placement. But he doesn't handle pressure well, and that's proven to be a make or break trait for QB prospects. And he doesn't really have the high-end potential you like to see for a #1 pick. IMO, he is pretty close to his ceiling already.

I think Stroud is somewhere along the lines of a Derek Carr, Jimmy G, or Jared Goff. Kind of a fair-weather pocket QB who plays up to his situation. If their line keeps them clean, those three guys can execute all day. But they crumble when things start falling apart around them.

The draft capital they gave up is hoping for a Joe Burrow result. I'm not sure about any of these QBs. In this year's draft, I think it would have been better off to move up a few spots and hope to get Levis. Could be a great pick, and if not, you didn't sell the farm. And you keep your WR.
