Cowboys fans are having a change of heart around head coach Brian Schottenheimer

When did you want Landry to step down?
If Jones wanted to move on from Landry, he deserved a face to face meeting and IMO Jerry should have kept him on the payroll as a consultant. Landry had already drafted Michael Irvin his last season as hc and was going to draft Aikman so things would have turned around and Landry likely would have likely retired after a few more seasons anyway.

This is true but should be true for all coaches I mean how is it the Pittsburgh Steelers coach and I know he's a really good coach he's lost seven straight playoff games I mean this is all about winning in the playoffs he's not doing too well neither is TJ Watt in that group over there big they all make excuses....

So patience is a virtue with a new head coach a brand new first time head coach there's a lot of many nfl and they all should get some time to prove themselves but all we have right now to judge him by is what he's done in the offseason and people are grading that now we can't grade what we haven't seen but if anyone starts ripping on this guy three games into the season without giving him some time I want that same energy for all the other new first time head coaches I don't want any excuses they should all get some time to grow into their position dan Campbell had a terrible first year and his GM put more and more talent every year on that team try to help him out and now he's proving his worth but he had no good reputation to be hired as a head coach either he had no business I never heard of Nick Siriani either his resume was pretty poor and what his GM do gave him every opportunity to win more games than he did we need to give some time to B S but we also have to remember who is G M is...

You gotta make sure his owner is ready to help him as much as some of these other head coaches has got.....
I don’t care how the Steelers are run but all we can do is hope our new hc can make noise in the playoffs.

He is unfairly going to be judged on one thing….if he can he overcome the Jerry factor.

He will need to get past the meddling, what Jerry would “like to see more of,” and being left short at a position or two on the field.

Unfortunately for all of us….as @gimmesix says…No-Schott.
No coach since Jimmy has been about to counter the devastating affects of all the distractions and obstacles to winning Jerry produces. After 30 seasons, it seems no head coach hamstrung by Jerry’s micromanagement tactics can ever get us past a few wild card wins every ten years. I wish him luck but Jerry has all the power and the hc has very little.

If it doesn't lead to results on the field, then did it really matter that he was spending all his time trying to be best buds with everyone in the off season?

They should be getting paid to win games, not for who is the best at paintball or who is the most popular. And if you haven't noticed, there are a few members here at CZ who, like Jerry, don't put much stock into winning anything.
I get it.

I don't understand how the Pickens trade ignited anything. The guy isn't among the top 25 receivers, so what's so special? A trade for someone like Tyreek Hill would have actually been something to talk about.
The Pickens trade caused ignited excitement among local fan base because of the frustrations towards Cowboys front office perceived lack of effort .. more notably such as
the disinterest in stud RB Derrick Henry who not only publicly expressed a desire to play in Dallas, but at the rime of his free agent status eventually signed a bargain price 1 year deal for 16 million with the SB contending Baltimore Ravens .. while we cheaply were content ot stay with a backfield of Zeke Elliott, Rico & Deuce and street scrub Dalvin Cook, .." we couldn't afford him per Jerry.

- And that's not including the mid season trade of low heralded WR Mingo ... the inept development of ex-3rd rd. WR Tolbert. and 5th rd Ryan Flournoy
. the bust trade of vet WR Brandin Cook..

- And many perceive that Pickens suffered from a lack of QB play that has clearly plagued the Steelers for the past few years. even dating back to the decline of Big Ben .
as reasons why he has been stifled and limited in Pittsburgh. .

:hammer:

As a fan, if people think I'm negative, apologies, not my intent. I just feel like I've been beaten to death year after year with the current owner/GM.

I REALLY REALLY hope we make the playoffs, but there is a part of me that for some reason worries about time management late in the game that will affect us when it's most important.
