Except that Claiborne has performed better this year than Sterling Moore ever has or will.

Claiborne has 3 career interceptions with 0 this year as a high draft pick in a contract year. Moore has 4 interceptions with 1 so far this year as a avg joe.

Claiborne gets hurt every year including this one. Moore hasnt missed a game

Claiborne got torched by evans. Moore messed up Dez.

Hmmmmm

Something tells me this is the beginning of Jones being a starting CB

You may be right. It's great to have a solid starting CB but our safety position is looking possibly the worst it's ever been. We easily have the worst starting safeties in the NFL.

I totally get what you're saying, and you may be right, but ultimately I think his best fit will end up being at Safety. Time will tell.

If you could care less, that means you do care to some extent beyond the bare minimum.

Sounds like you COULDN'T care less.

Does it really matter, we all knew what he meant? There's much more to be debated. Like, how many roster spots are being wasted by these soft clowns???

I sure would prefer it to be safety. We seem to be hurting far worse at safety than at corner.

It depends how good of a CB he can be... I know we've been needing a FS around here for more than a decade, but there's a couple of really good FS who will be UFA's after this season (Gipson and Weddle), and it's very unlikely that either will re-sign with their current teams... So if Jones is good enough to be our best CB, and with Scandrick coming back next season, if you also sign a really good veteran to play at FS, then it makes both CB and FS much less of an issue heading into the draft, which means we can focus more on the DT, DE, and LB positions.

Plus I don't know if Jones is physical enough to play FS, but as a CB he would be considered a strong tackler...

"Welcome back Romo, we know you just got back, but we need you to go out and put up 35+ points because our secondary went from garbage to hot garbage. thanks"

And replaced by who? I know most believe them to be garbage but replacing a whole secondary in a offseason....not sure how realistic that is.

It isn't. I'd be happy keeping Mo, Oscan, and Jones on as our base. Carr can stay too with a much lower contract, since he isn't horrible and can contribute. There's always room for improvement, but you can't toss them all and hope for good results.

Not sure if Mo is elsewhere next season, although wouldn't surprise me if he wanted a fresh start elsewhere as opposed to Dallas ushering him through the door.

Regarding Byron Jones, I am not too sure he will be at CB. I think Dallas may really have something with him as a cover Safety. He has range and is around the ball often. He may be the 2015 version of Woody or Earl Thomas, Ed Reed type...would love to see him at FS since it has been such a hole for so long.

OScan will be manning a CB spot and if Mo returns he will have the other. Either way, I can see Dallas drafting a CB because Carr will be gone IMO.

Personally, unless a really good FS becomes available in free agency, I'd rather keep Jones at FS going forward.

Good safety play can make mediocre corners look really good. Just take a look at Seattle corners who've left Seattle to go elsewhere and don't have that mega-duo behind them anymore. They've basically been trash.
