Claiborne tackling issues... anyone else concerned?

Ok... so I'm just going to accept that Claiborne was ranked as high as he was for his coverage ability and other quality traits, however his tackling and physicality leaves some concern about teams just running at him all day. Also he seemed to struggle against the quick receivers.. which does not bold well for a Victor Cruz matchup if you can't cover him and you can't tackle him once he catches the ball.

I'm sure the guy has many great qualities, but these two concern me. The example would be the West Virginia game where Bailey was wearing him out and they were just attacking him all game.

No not really, he is a rookie and has time to work on the few flaws he may have. It's not that he can't tackle, from what I hear he just makes some choices when tackling and takes bad angles which can be taught unlike guys who just can't or don't want to tackle.

He won't have to tackle Cruz, he will pick the ball off and score if Eli throws on him! ;)

At least that is my plan lol

I think bad angles had to do with his problems over not tackling at all.

your the only one ive heard mention he ahs tackling issues, so no

Everyone seems to be dismissing this issue very quickly. Before we do that....is this just a one bad game thing or can you help provide us with more examples. I did not see him play much in college so I am interested to hear from those that did.

Um no he was regarded as a great all around corner so i dont know where you are getting this

I have a many more bigger things in life to worry about than something as insignificant as this.

No, it's pretty well known that Claiborne isn't the best tackler. Watch some games of him, not highlights, and you can see it's something he needs to improve on.

I think with some coaching he'll improve.

I am concerned and pretty sure he is a bust cause he won't tackle.

Whew, glad I got that out.

:D

Nobody cares about a cb that can't tackle unless they aren't a good cb

Here is the WV game... you can watch the other two games that are on youtube as well.. same type of issues.. seems to have that Deion-like finesse approach, although he will come up and tackle from time to time, just doesn't seem to break down very well and kind of throws himself at the ball carrier.

I love the pick, but they have to work with him on this in training camp, which I am sure they will.

Jenkins is the one with tackling issues.
