Garrett has the clapping down to a science and Romo has the plank perfected when throwing himself to the ground. Now, who is our twerker? For some reason I think Jerry might pull it off after one too many cocktails tonight. He has given us some golden clips, why not another?
This team is a mess, some talent mixed in with total incompetence. I have been saying it since my first "Unimpressed" post that our offense sucks, the offensive scheme and game-plans are outdated and mundane.
Why do I choose to focus on the offense and not the defense? Because they do not have any excuses, they are the healthiest part of the team. We were led to believe that things were changing and we got the best TE's to run that vaunted 12 formation. Heck, Jerry took duties from Jason and handed them to another puppet from the same playbook and scheme! Darn you Jerry, you slipped another one by me...............
I know the defense is beyond bad, extremely bad actually. Ryan wasn't the problem last year and Kiffin/Marinelli are not the problems this season. They lack talent and fielded a team of nobody's to fill in the holes of an injury depleted cast. But, but Sean Lee got hurt. Guess what? It wouldn't have mattered. But Hatcher missed the game too, again, same response from me. Granted, if those two played, we might have only lost by 20. I will not even go into detail about Heath, he needs to go back to manufacturing his candy bars, very brittle ones at that.
Here is what I don't understand...................Rob Ryan has a history with us, a soured one at that. If I were head coach, the first thought I would have coming into this game is......Ryan knows our offense and will try to embarrass us, a vindication if you will. Knowing that, I would have created a game-plan that he would not expect, playing the shell game(find the nut). This offense is predictable, stagnate and lacks any kind of creativity. Who is the reason for this? Garrett, plain and simple. I will not include Jerry because that will not change, so wasting my time.
Garrett needs to be let go after the season. He gets six more games to prove himself, especially on offense. The defense is beyond repair.
The last thing I want to see is someone else taking the blame for this debacle. Callahan and Kiffin better brush up on their debating skills, graphs and charts would not be a bad compliment.
For those who will still defend Garrett, try but I will not be convinced. He was never the right hire for this organization, too raw. I am completely happy with him being promoted to GM or some made up position above head coach, I think he can do well there but he is not a head coach at this point in time.
As for the players quitting tonight, I am not so sure. The defensive guys still hustled, not their fault that they shouldn't be in that position. The offense, I question them. Some looked to have checked out in the 2nd half.
I don't want to get into stat details about 3rd down conversions, passing, etc but I will say this. Romo sucked tonight and I have always supported him and always will. He needs to play better, this was unacceptable. Some is his fault and some is the scheme.
Is Dez really an elite receiver? Be careful how you answer. If you say yes, then why is he taken out of games easily? That is on Garrett.................If no, then why? I don't see how anyone can defend Romo, Dez and the offense at the same time. There is a root to this equation and it starts with Garrett and his piss-poor scheme. I firmly believe this team can win with Romo but he needs a whole new offensive system installed to do so. He will never get a ring under this regime.
If anyone wants to stick their head in the sand and blame the defense solely, by all means, go for it but I can't be budged on my stance.
Bottom line, either Garrett has to go or a new offensive coordinator needs to be brought in with no connection to Garrett. The make-up they have now will not win consistently IMO.
Can we still win the division? I think so, the other teams suck too. It will all come down to injuries and we do not look good in that department ATM. Lee's hammy looked like a bad one, grade III perhaps, and that is about a 4-week recovery(2 years in Austin's case).
I am at the point of....is a division win worth keeping Garrett and this unacceptable offensive scheme around another season? I really don't know anymore. I hate seeing us lose and will never root for a loss but I want this clown out of here. New clown blood is better than predictable clown blood!
