Clarence Hill: Cowboys have offered Micah a record deal with his agent not involved

Micahs agent nor Micah is entitled to anything. It's simply a matter of accepting the deal or getting the agent involved, which will likely get messy. I can't complain about the Joneses tactics on this one.
Unethical and likely a violation of one or more contracts.

I was surprised to read this about Jerry.

So, is CHill saying it's not the Cowboys FO that is delaying this deal? If so, Micah should step up and get this done immediately.

I'm not. Jerry has shown time and time again how foolish he can be striking deals with players. He was trying to save some money and hold Micah to his word about taking less. Apparently Micah was lying. He's immature and should probably just be quiet, let his agent do his job.

Was it Randy White, that wanted a nice trailer for his truck, as a signing bonus? Maybe it was a boat trailer, can't remember.
Maybe Jerry should build Micah a broadcast booth for his podcast in his garage and his signing bonus
Walt Garrison asked and received his horse trailer, maybe Micah can ask for team of horses and start ranching.

Owner should have a right to negotiate with the player.
Player should have a right to counsel before signing any contract.

I don't understand the issue, but hey in this world where a man isn't really a man, or at least no one knows what one is, what is to be expected?

Jerry offered a contract.
Micah takes contract to his lawyer to determine if it is "correct or in his best interest".

No middle lawyer trying to incite issues to make himself more money, but two men negotiating the value of his entertainment.

It might cause issues with other lawyers leaching massive money from other players. From a contract standpoint, I really believe if I was an owner, I would never negotiate a contract without the player present. Players can make the choice to either have counsel present, or take the offer (contract) back to be reviewed. I would not want a lawyer telling his client only what the lawyer wanted the client to hear, too much chance for corruption and hard feelings.

I wonder what the holdup is getting this deal done,Parsons was ready to sign a while back.
Agents have a number that Jerry hates.

Likely 40-50M per year.

Our cap is in bad shape.

40 M.

Subtract the 20M rollover for 2026….

That leaves 20M. They still have to pay the draft class.

And Lance wants paid too.

Players need an agent not to argue money but to argue contract language that they may not understand or interpret differently than what’s legally written

Yup. Items may change too from the first draft to the final version. Look at the Gregory deal when Dallas tried to put in the clause to void the contract had he been suspended or fined for drugs/ or personal conduct policy.

Not saying Dallas would something like that for Parsons, but it's their best interest to have an agent to really digest all the fine print.

Jerry clearly doesn't understand market value until that bird in his head clicks off and says PAY OVER market value, reset the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I imagine it’s his agent.

Ceedee and the team were ready long before his agent allowed him to sign.
now the player has the ultimate say; so claiming the agent can actually force anything is BS
