    First heard this piece of music in the movie Platoon and loved it ever since. Cant listen to it without needing a tissue.

    The Master at His finest, the way He twines the 2 pianos around each other is just perfect.
    The 2nd movement is so beautiful I could cry.

    There is another thread extolling the virtues of old school Saturday morning cartoons. It's interesting that a good many of us were first introduced to classical music via these cartoons. Who hasn't enjoyed Bugs Bunny's rendition of the Barber of Seville?

    My dad was actually a classmate of Van Cliburn in Kilgore, TX. My dad had old, scratchy recordings of Van Cliburn from high school performance. Unfortunately, they didn't survive.
