Still optimistic that a deal can be done...looking for $8M/year.

When was the last player to hold out actual games?

Only person I can think of was Emmitt.

Vincent Jackson like 2 years ago.

I would pay him 4-5 million a year. I'd do a 4 yr 20 million deal with half guaranteed.

He is 26, has 2 1000 yard rushing seasons. Catches about 400 yards or so on averages. So he is a 1300 yard a season type of back.

Didn't the guard off the Pats miss a few games?

That would be the one i can think off he only missed 4 games because after that they do not get a credit for the year or something like that or it was in the past.

They also tend to suffer stat wise and lose money when they do go to FA

I think he sat out a few weeka then came back and served a suspension he had pending as well.

It is not about what you wanna pay him. He was offered a contract, that at the time would of eaten 2yrs of his rookie deal, and was decent for the time, and he declined it. He wants like 8-10mill a year, which is not happening. The Bears have all the leverage here. On the other hand, the guy was literally 70% of that offense. But, the Bears SHOULD franchise him this year, and next, which I believe he will be 28, and go from there. In this NFL, runningbacks just do not hold up, and teams use multiple ones.

I think you can only put the tag on a player once under the new CBA.

I don't blame him. A running back's career can end quickly, and he wants to make sure he's taken care of before he has to bow out. He's never had a second contract and has only played on his rookie deal, with the franchise tag coming this year.

The Bear's offense runs through him. He has all the leverage and he deserves some more respect than the Bears are giving him.

I still think it is 2yrs, with a 120% raise the 2nd.

One of the best backs in NFL. Maybe second to only Peterson and my main man Demarco of course!!!!

He is more in the 5-10 range.

Look at his career numbers. He has 2 1000 yard seasons with his rookie season being by far the best of his career at 1238 and 8 tds. He also caught for 477 and 4 scores. He averages 1554 yards per season when you combine his receiving yards. If you consider the top rushers rush for about 1300 yards a year and score double digit tds, without even adding in their rec. yards and scores. He has never rushed for over 10 tds.
