Its just not going to happen.

I remember Moss doing an interview a couple years back while he was in Oakland and he flat out said that him and TO on the same team would just not work.

No!!! No!!! No!!!! We do not have the money. we have to be able to sign Barber long term. We have to sign Canty long term. We have to sign Newman long term. We have to sign Ware long term. We have to sign Hamlin to a long deal. We might even have to sign Owens to a longer deal.

Whatever deal moss make get on the open market, he will give the pats a chance to macth. Brady must be beside himself if they let him get away. I still say in the end he will be a patriot.

ESPN's John Clayton reports the Patriots are not close to a deal with free agent Randy Moss.

Clayton says Moss is willing to listen to other teams' offers. Moss, 31, probably won't get a six- or seven-year deal, but could become the NFL's highest paid receiver annually on a shorter-term contract if he wants.

I'd be happy with Hackett in FA at the WR position. This assumes no R Williams or Fitz trades are going to happen.

Otherwise, maybe we just go with Glenn into 2008 and draft a WR to throw into the mix? I guess Walker could be an opportunity, but it would really depend on his health.

I thought he was signed long term, he only got drafed 3 years ago in round 1, should have 4 more years left on his contract roughly.
We don't have to sign anyone long term.
Sure Id' like to keep Canty, but to add Moss to this offense we'd DEFINATELY make the superbowl the next 4 years in a row!
There's ways to manipulate the cap, Barbr isn't gonna cost that much, a pretty penny but wont' break the bank.
BUT all that being said, I think Moss is a piece of sh@T who I do not want, and you are right, now if there's a Moss type W.R. in another year or so and we havent' made a superbowl, THEN go for broke with our team, but our team is talented and young and should be the odds on favorites to reach the superbowl from the NFC for the next 5 years or so, so no need to break the bank now.

I wouldn't be surprised ever since we brought in Owens after he did what he did to our star, so Moss is certainly not out of the question and we all know Jones LOVES the spotlight and MARQUEE players, especially if he doesn't have to give up draft picks to get him.

Ware signed a 5-yr deal. At most, he has two years left on his deal.

By the way, I forgot the Jerry Jones has tons of money left to sign a guy like Moss.
