Clearing the air (Bleed Blue's apology)

Here's another power ranking (fox sports) that has us listed as third.

Below is what they said about Dallas. Hmmmm. Maybe no mention of our opponents record because most people can see that in the NFL when you're blowing every team out of the water... it goes without saying that you're a good team.

The NFC's top rated offense continued to flourish Sunday against St. Louis. The defense played pretty darn well too. The Cowboys outgained the Rams 502-187 yards in what was Dallas's fourth convincing win of the young season. Tony Romo used his arm and his legs to put up yet another dream fantasy stat line, while the defense held Marc Bulger under 200 yards. His replacement — Gus Frerotte — fared no better. Wade Phillips has the Cowboys at 4-0; the team's best start since 1995. Dallas travels to Buffalo for a Monday night matchup.

502-187 yards for the two teams (Dallas and Rams). That means that Dallas had 268% more yards than the Rams did.

So you come to apologize for a being negative and among other things, posting stuff that says we aren't any good because we haven't beaten anyone yet... and then you post a "Power Ranking" that says we haven't beaten anyone good yet?

Mighty conveinient there for you. ;)
No, I apologize to the forum I love and my fellow Cowboy Fans for not making it clear it was not my opinion. The materials in this thread is what the rest of the paid pros,Joe fans and homers of other teams pull from to make an argument. I'm with you guys damit! It was still untimely. I was homering out to when the phone rang. I'm pulling the plug this Monday night!:lmao2: No Calls!!!!!!!!!

Not saying we should be #1 but that arguement is weak.

It is very weak and shouldn't be a factor...

Throw in the fact that two of the Pats opponents already this year played each other. Someone had to win...

Look guys, I agree these guys are not giving us the props we deserve but all we have to do is take care of our own business. If we do that and go into our bye undefeated (and yes that means beating the pats) then what can they say.

You have to earn the respect and honestly, the Pats have done that over the last few years. We are still a bit of an anomaly to them. We'll get our due when we are holding an unprecedented 6th Lombardi trophy.

Been my mantra the whole season.

Hard to believe I met so much resistance to this theory from the 'ifs and buts' crowd.

They tried not to.

I'm tired of hearing them say we haven't beaten anyone. Well, just who have most of the winning teams beaten. The teams NE beat sure aren't winners; same goes for most of the 4-0 teams. The way things are going it sounds like no one will be convinced we are a good team unless we beat NE. Of course fans of other teams won't be able to beat NE either but we've got to show we for real by beating the team most think will win the SB this year.

This whole thing is bogus. Also tired of the arguement that again surfacing among some dumb Skins fans that now they have film on Romo the teams will be able to figure out what he's doing. Seems to me they saw what he was doing on that poor snap play but didn't see Rams able to do anything about it. Does other teams have to see new film on Romo every year to figure out what he's doing.

You say that like you're really bitter about it and it sticks in your craw. It's a Cowboys forum. There is bound to be optimism when they are 4-0. Duh.

that's fine -- there is plenty of reason to be optimistic -- but to feel you need to apologize for being the slight bit pessimistic makes me worry that the glass half full police are taking things too far.

The records of opponents teams that get beat by 4-0 teams is in trouble out of the gate -

I like the way we are pounding teams.

What I find really STUPID...is just because the Cowboys beat the teams on their SCHEDULE? That means they are not a good team? HELLO!

I wish this team would have played the first 4 games against the Patriots, Colts, Packers...and whoever else. The result would be the same...;)

And the COlts opponents record is a combined 6-10.

Yet those BSPN homos only mention in the cowboys comment thingy about the opponents record.

The pats? Oh they're great, nevermind their opponents 4-12 record.

The Packers? ZOMG BRETT FAVRE, MARRY ME! Never mind their opponents 5-11 record.

The Colts? ZOMG PEYTON MANNING, BE MY PART TIME LOVER!!! Never mind their opponents 6-10 record.

Power Ranking are useless no matter what, but SCREW BSPN for only having a comment about the COWBOYS oppoents' record, but not for any of the other teams.

For me, the best indicator is always and will always be how you play against your division.

There isn't a single division game we have that will be a cakewalk - until we start playing the NFC East, I'm not counting my chickens. Nov 4 at Philly, Nov 11 at NY, Nov 18 Washington. That stretch is going to let us know what's up.

In all fairness, the Jets and Bills could have tied ;)

Let's see the opponents the Patriots have played combined record is like 4-12 and the record for the teams that Dallas has faced are 3-13, yeah that's a HUGE difference!
