Cleats Help

If your toenail is detached from the base, it's gonna come off anyway. Experienced toenail detacher here, unfortunately. lol

If the swelling doesn't go down, then you'll need to be concerned about infection, too. Either way, your new nail is going to grow under the detached toe nail once the swelling goes.down. The old nail could even still be on top, but eventually, it'll loosen and you'll be pulling it off yourself.

Can we bring back the throwing up emoticon?

I played rec volleyball during the summer where the kids from college that actually play try and dominate. I loved it.

Reffing volleyball is borderline stealing, but I love doing it. lol

I think he was referring to pants.

Wear two pairs of socks. But no, you don't want any wiggle room.

This. I always wore two pairs of socks. You want them to be snugged almost like you are playing bare feet. It sounds like you had too much room and your big toe kept on pounding against the shoe, thus causing bruising underneath the toenail.

As of now I dunno if I'll be healed in time to play next week. My right toe is dark purple and really hurts just to the touch. I'm working from home because puttiing on dress shoes would be not possble. How come other people seem to wear cleats just fine but not me?

Sigh.

Ok wrong pair of shoes. What brand are they? What type of foot do you have? Wide? Narrow? Arch or no arch?

You should not end up with hammer toes! There should be room about a pinky finger's worth of room for your toes, but your vamp on your shoe should lock your foot down and prevent it from hammering your toes.

Once again what is the brand and what foot type do you have?

I don't get it, .. but it's probably me 'cause I'm not sure what that is in your sig pic either.

edit: I just saw the name of the .jpg file, .. I get it now.

wow, being hard on Lupita...."what that is".... I personally think she's beautiful....

Total guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were Nike Alphas. They run long and narrow.

Even if the cleats are too big, it sounds to me like they just werent laced tight enough. Your foot shouldn't be sliding even if they are too big if they're laced properly.

I don't have much experience with cleats but it sounds a little like my sizing issue of the past. Through the years as a kid as my feet grew I kept going up in number size in D shoes. I never thought about the possibility that I needed to go wider. So I went up as high as 11 1/2 and once the shoes wore out (usually a year or so they would start getting holes on the sides of the shoes. In my case the little toe side. Well you would think I would have figured out my problem on my own. But it took me going to Kohls with a percentage off coupon. They were out of my size or anything close to it. The closest I could find was a 10 1/2 4E (or maybe it was 2E) and to my surprise it was a pretty good fit. I ended up with size 10 4E my current shoe size.

Under Armour, not sure of the brand. My feet are low arch and pretty standard. Dunno the width but they are normal I guess. I wear a size 12-13 - cleats are a 12.

Yeah I plan on lacing MUCH tighter next game.

Just wanted to give an update, I've been wearing an extra pair of socks and keeping the laces FAR tighter, and it's been the difference of night and day. Thanks for the help and suggestions, it worked very well!
