Is there any chance the Rangers can re-sign Cliff Lee and is there any chance he would snub the Yankees and sign with the Rangers?

Cliff is ownage. It would be a horrible crime if garbage like the Stankees signed him.

It sounded like Cliff said, if the Rangers win the World Series, he would resign with them without question. (providing the money is right I'm sure)

Obviously the Yankees could offer him some $40M a year and he would sign there. Of course considering Lee ***** slaps them every freaking time they face him, it might be worth it for them.

The Yankees are like 0-3 against Lee in the playoffs. (0-2 in the WS last year and now 0-1 in this series)

Lee absolutely owns the Yankees. For that reason alone he should be a Ranger! ROFL

Sabathia gets 20 per. I doubt they pay Lee 20 mil more than that. The Rangers, contrary to popular belief (read:Yankee fans) will be able to make a very competitive offer with the new ownership and tv deal considering. I've said along, if Cliff wants to stay in Texas, he'll be here. He may have wanted to be a Yankee at one time but after being around all the young guys in the Rangers clubhouse, I hope he has a chance of heart.

First off, Cliff Lee in the playoffs blow CC to the curb like trash in the wind. That alone says the Yankees (especially the ego thats larger than George "Hank" will pay him anything he wants)

Cliff is currently breaking all-time major league playoff records for wins and strikeouts. That doesn't even begin to talk about consecutive wins!

This guy owns in big games. The Yankees would be fools if they didn't pay him anything he wanted. If the Rangers win, I think he would stay with the Rangers as long as the Yankees didn't pay him something absolutely stupid per year. (like $32M+ per year)

I hope you're right. I'm so excited about the Rangers not only about this post season but for their future with Nolan Ryan running the team, I think he's a good man and the perfect person to be in charge. They've made me almost forget about the Cowboys. Finally one our pro teams has a legit ownership with a direction and a plan, unlike Cuban and Jones who are some sort of side show whose teams do nothing but disappoint.

One thing that may or may not matter is Lee grew up in Arkansas and I believe (not sure) that his wife and kids still live there with most of his family, think I heard that when we first got him...so that may help a little bit.

From another board:
Sandy Koufax, career, postseason:
57 innings, 32 hits, 10 runs, 2 home runs, 11 walks, 61 strikeouts

Cliff Lee, career, postseason:
64 1/3 innings, 34 hits, 11 runs, 1 home run, 7 walks, 67 strikeouts

Lee wants to find a long term home and he has one in Texas with a team that wants him to stay. They will give him a very competitive offer and I think the Yanks will have to outbid by 10 Mil to make him wanna leave Texas. He knows if he stays with Texas, esp with the new ownership, that they'll always have a chance here on out. Rangers new ownership is willing to spend and have been making lights out decisions so far.

Having Cliff Lee is like having Peyton Manning at Qb.

Peyton Manning isn't as clutch as Cliff Lee is. It's more like having Joe Montana in his prime.

I feel dirty being a Cowboys fan and saying that, but he's about the most clutch QB I can think of.

Cliff Lee literally appears to have a switch that he can turn on and off. In the playoffs, it's broken off in the freaking on position!
