Clemson senior OL Brandon Thomas earned a comparison to Brian Waters from The MMQB's Greg A. Bedard.
"I fell in love with Clemson T/G Brandon Thomas when he handled South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney largely one-on-one this season," Bedard writes. "That continued this week. His smart, savvy and tough play reminds me a bit of future Hall of Fame guard Brian Waters. Thomas just knows how to play." This is a very similar sentiment to our own Josh Norris. The NFL obsesses with measurables, but Thomas might have enough length to stay on the outside. His athletic lower half is one of his best traits. Jan 24 - 11:41 AM

He's better than Richardson and maybe even Yankey. Wouldn't shock me to see him shoot up to late RD 1. I think everyone assumed he'd have mediocre measurements of a typical 6'3" guy. Instead, almost 11" hands, 34 3/8" arms and just over an 83" wingspan. Only gigantic Seantrel Henderson of Miami surpasses him.

Totally ignored him during the season but watching him now, he's super impressive. Ideal fit for ZBS. Could start immediately at LG and maybe move out to RT when Free becomes a free agent in 2015.

Cowboys love long armed lineman and even though he isnt tall, he could play OT in a pinch.

Clemson senior OL Brandon Thomas "held up very well at left tackle" during the Senior Bowl, according to Reese's Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage.

Thomas protected Tahj Boyd's blind side as Clemson's left tackle in 2013, and he practiced at the same spot during Senior Bowl week. Because Thomas performed so well, Savage now believes he could potentially handle that spot in the NFL. Scouts already had no questions about his ability to play right tackle or guard at the next level, so Savage believes Thomas offers NFL squads "three-position flexibility."
