I think Dallas would handle them easily……..at home. But, this real grass field is a legit problem, especially against a really good defense.
Yeah, on the road and on grass scares me. Also Amari Cooper plays better at home than he does on the road. So that would have given us another advantage. Bland being out scares me.

I’m not scared of Watson tho, he’s coming off injury. I think we can win if we can stop the run and make Watson throw it a lot. But stopping the run in general has been our weak link and especially stopping the run on the road. I think we can win but I’d be more confident if we were at home.

This game is a very winnable game to me. Deshaun Watson, has regressed and is in a prove it year and coming off an injury. I know the Browns have a solid defense, but usually the first game is harder of the defense from a fatigue aspect. So if we can somehow rush for 125 yards as a team, and have a positive 3rd down conversion, along with no turnovers, I feel we win 23-20.
The Cowboys will win by more than 10.

Good luck with the saving and the lame roommate.

Well, that roommate moved out, and yeah, I'm pretty much set for booking the hotel (whenever they open up the staff hotel stuff) and the flight. Just saving for the stuff I'll be spending on in Chicago. It's the annual con I do the weekend after Thanksgiving. I plan to be in Chicago (Rosemont technically) from December 4 until December 9.

naughty ... naughty ... the minute we become content and assume it's a win,.. that's when we get upset and fall on our faces in a loss.

:omg:

These are the types of argument this board used to be - some insight, thought about tendencies. Thanks Tab.

Instead its just "oh our QB sux, give me likes" repeated ad nauseum.

As long as the D doesn't commit stupid drive extending penalties we should be good.
It won’t be that simple. We still have to be able to stop them and it’s anyone’s guess if we’re going to have any resemblance of a running game.

This game will set the tone for the rest of the season and how on grass with 2 rookie offline men and a running game that is for the dogs your optimism is admirable but flawed.
Also considering you have a QB who does not play well outside on grass and his lame-duck status this could be an embarrassing loss for us.
GL to us either way I guess...............

You hit the nail square on the head about the key being able to run the ball. It’s imperative as it will take time off the clock and protect our young lineman in pass blocking.

Hahahah. First of all, just about every game in this league is winnable for almost every team. There literally isn’t one game on the slate this week that isn’t winnable for any team. When you compound that with putting together an impressive performance on the field with the statistics you listed, of course the game is winnable.

I can sit here and ramble off tens of stats to win the game. Doing it on the field is an entirely different story. Cowboys could have beaten the packers in January too. They just had to do x y and z. Unfortunately, they did none of them and go the doors blown off them. That isn’t how it works.

I've already made my opinions known in another thread...but I'll chime in here.

Here are four different ways I could see Dallas could win.
-Win the Turnover battle by 2 or more
-Keep Cleveland under 13 points
-Get pivotal calls from refs
-Score via defense or S.T.

And yes, there could always be a surprise where Dallas is just better overall.

I don't expect a W, but nothing in the NFL shocks me, and it wouldn't be a huge upset for us to win.

Yes, it's a winnable game. The Cowboys offense has to be better than Browns defense. Otherwise, this will be a low-scoring game where field goals are still only three points but they mean more. We have the better kicker!

Watson may not get much respect around here, but he is the type of QB that always gives Dallas fits. Mobile and will run without hesitation.

All games are winnable, just as they are loseable. First games are sloppy. Will not look pretty from either side. Team with less TO wins.

As long as we don't get the Playoff Cowboys, we'll win. If we get the same dudes with the same mindset as when they're in the playoffs, we lose.

Mark this as a win for the Cowboys in my book.

We can't run the ball, and the Browns are very good at stopping the run. That means our offense will be forced to be one dimensional which rarely works out well.

The only thing going for us is that Chubb is out, or this game is likely a blowout in favor of the Browns. We have a chance to win because of this, but it will probably take a defensive score to do it.

I heard on The Fan by B-B-Brian Broaddus, Brian Broaddus that the Browns only allow something like 4 yards a pass at home. Dak struggles against good defenses. I can see us putting up only 9 points.
